Anybody who speeds on any road above the speed limit is a complete and utter knob.Go on try and change my opinion, bet you can’t…PATHETIC.
Wow. Just… wow.
Not sure why your surprised Rob, if ( and god hope you don’t) you come off a single carriage way road doing 56 miles an hour surely the first thing they look at will be you driving record on your card / tacho. How would you explain that.
What’s that got to do with anything? My comment was in response to Mr. Self Never-Do-Wrong Righteous labelling everyone an “utter knob” if they exceed the speed limit.
This site is getting worse by the day. Can’t talk about owt anymore without some finger-wagging do-gooder sticking their unwanted oar in.

At the end of the day there are drivers who choose to drive for company’s that work that way, fine. But there are also drivers who work for firms that can do what they like when they like and drive how they like.
Like I’ve said before, the 40mph boys shouldn’t take it personally.
If I want to go faster then that’s up to me isn’t it??
And the same goes for them, if they want to do 40mph then that’s cool. Neither is “pathetic” like rooster says.

Of couse I do,Doesn’t common sense prevail?? If it says “fog” and there isn’t a cloud in the sky, do you turn your fog lights on?
Of course it does, we have to follow rules 226 p76 of the code, and rule 236 p79.
ie You MUST switch them off when visibilty improves.
I used the word “PATHETIC” because you have to trust me here. the law won’t stand by you, the police will jump all over you, your firm won’t back you up, they really won’t, why would they ?
OK its up to you, of course it is, but why risk your job/income etc, it just ain’t worth it !

because I have DRL’s my trailer lights are on all the time, unless its really sunny when I turn them off but this involves holding a button down for 3 seconds and then another 3 seconds to turn them back on…What kind if motor do you have? I didn’t know that DRLs could be easily turned off, I really hate them, wont even buy a new car because of them…
Scania, I put a picture up on here in a thread about day running lights a few months back. You can turn them off in new cars I’m almost certain.

But why slow down to 20mph then when you can clearly see ahead for 3 miles that there is nothing in front of you?
I know its daft, but I will not go against the matrix signs, its just the way it is.You only have to have plod on one of the fly-overs checking your speed and your fluffed.I
I,ve rang the Highways Agency before now and asked them to get in touch with the motorway operators to review the speed limit.
If the OP had abided by the speed limit, the BP driver would have accelerated away from him on each section of DC therefor enabling the OP to have a much more relaxed, chilled out, stress free drive.

Because them lovely little boxes on the back of the gantry with the flashy lights could see you being banned for passing it on the limiter.
I don’t think they enforce a 20 limit but they DO enforce 30’s, 55 in a 30 is very likely to see you banned or at the very least 6 points! Either way an appointment with a magistrate is a certainty
The same with the Red X’s - this is also illegal and if the camera catches you or a copper sees you, then again, you are risking your licence.
I am paid by the hour, I also am on trackers 50% of the time so I will not speed - I have been told of drivers being diciplined by the bosses for speeding.
Yes I do stick to 50 on D/C
Them’s the rules
I haven’t read all the posts as its that age old topic.
It’s not what speed you or I are doing its deliberately altering your speed to prevent other people over taking just to be a prick, you can’t tell me this is anything other than that.
Speeding is a different debate.
Ok he shouldn’t of overtaken him in an artic on a single but this guys obstinance was the cause and effect.
If you stick to the speed limit on a single, fair play to you and you are totally entitled to do so but you need to stick to the speed limit on a dual as well or you are just advertising the fact that you are retarded.
Had a quick scan, rooster, you drive however slowly you like mate no worries, I presume you wouldn’t be an obstructing ■■■■■■ when a safe overtaking place for other traffic came along.
Contraflow, limit plus 10% is cool, I say again its not what speed you are doing its keeping it consistent that’s the issue so as to not deliberately obstruct other perhaps so called speeding tossers but its all about not getting up in each others faces is it not?

They can’t change and calibrate the cameras on the gantrys whenever they feel like it. They are set at 70+.
What about the little ones on the M40 that is a single matrix sign on the central reservation? I think a few posters may be telling porkies and i don’t think you all slow down to 20 when there is 3 miles of clear motorway ahead personally.

That includes the knobber OP on DC’s.
When matrix signs say 20mph and there is a clear motorway ahead that you can see for about 3 miles, do you slow down to 20■■
The matrix sign is only advisory the new ones with the red circle are speed limit signs, I am assuming FB is meaning the matrix sign so why would you do 20 when there is a clear road in front of you. The maths just don’t work out though, there are so many fantastic and amazing alleged lorry drivers on here but so many idiots driving then in real life.

and you stick RELIGIOUSLY to 30 mph in your car in a thirty/ built up area?
As someone said, consistency. Its the key. Unfortunately some of the posters on here get worse, instead of staying at a consistent mediocre level.
Regarding the A9, I think you should be banned from commenting on any topics regarding this road unless you have actually used it.

+1
Also, all Stobart drivers should be banned from commenting on all topics except the ones with “Stobart” in the title and leave all the rest to the real drivers.

Because this is the only driving job I’ve done? Get a grip you roaster.
It’s just possible that the OP was suffering from The Accumulative Bell-end Syndrome.
In our working days we probably come across say, five of these idiots.
But some days - and we’ve all had 'em, you get seventeen of the prats.
By the time you’ve done two thirds of your shift, somethings gonna blow!
Well, there’s just one thing for it - bash off a thread/post to Auntie Trucknet.
Mmmm, doesn’t that feel SO much better

But what’s worse is he probably has no idea what he was actually doing.
I reckon he knew exactly what he was doing and probably does it every day
