Wheel Nut:
I wasn’t having a go at you Carl, every truck I have ever seen that you drive has been split mint which I can appreciate. Everyone’s idea of Bling is different, this is my idea of a tidy outfit.
Cheers Franksie
Yes very tidy & very pleasing to the eye.
ditto, but it doesn’t matter how blinged up with light’s and bolt-on’s, or how plain it is as above. they do luck crap when it’s got several 100 miles on it.
little bit later
see same lorry, just a bit of water and soap (and polish…) and it look’s a different motor

t-was at truckfest the other year, it’s a crome wrap. and to be honest close up it’s well crap, mainly as it was probley a rush job to get it done. it had load’s of air bubble’s and you could see the stonchip’s a mile off on the front bumper…
I went into a Scania dealership today to see about fitting a rear light bar for low loader work ect, I had spoken to kelsa a week or two ago, the bar was about £600 but the dealer was sucking through his teeth and reckoned it could take 8 hours to wire it up at £85 hour as all the head lining in the truck has to come down, think ill need a stronger torch unless you have any ideas.

I asked MAN about fitting mine, they wanted something stupid {about £700 iirc}
Got a local auto elec to do it on a saturday morning for £200 most dealers dont have an electrician so they get joe bloggs out of the yellow pages and then charge you double for the privilage

You could wire it straight to the batteries (with a fuse obviously) switched by a relay that operates with the catwalk lamp. If you’re careful and use plenty of rivets/rivnuts and mastic you can attach it without having to get in the inside of the cab. (this wouldn’t be my preferred method though)
As mentioned main dealers aren’t the places for this sort of work though.

They started mentioning electrical ecu’s and i felt all queezy when i mentioned wiring it into the catwalk lamp they sucked in more breath, but they were very helpful i will say. I might get an auto electrician i know to look at it, but he is a bloody prima donna too
Just finished polishing my steps stack and tank because I like my truck to look good, I’m not a mad polisher but I will be till this Saturday afternoon, oh and I’ve got a lightbar chrome wheels etc and haven’t had to pay for them and wouldn’t pay for with my own money but I will take care of them as a bit of give and take is good all round
Would you take a job just to get a blinged up truck?
Remember reading somewhere recently that drivers from a company (can’t remember which one, wasn’t a big firm though) had agreed to give up a week (or 2) holiday pay in exchange for the company fitting light bars to the trucks.
Just made me think about how desperate some people must be to have a blinged truck…

OH GOD How sad is that. Previous generations fought tooth & nail to obtain better work conditions and paid holidays for us. How the hell will the job and pay rates improve for us when we have nobbedds (yeh I know its spelt wrong) like that to contend with. Pleeeeze dont anybody on here make an arse of themselves by defending these “professional drivers” or I think I will torch my licence and call it a day.
If i was in the same truck everyday and no 1 else drove it apart from me i would ask if i could personally pay for some extra spot lights and bars on the agreement that they will always be mine so if i ever left the company or they sold the truck they would come off. I wouldn’t exchange my holiday for it though no way!!!
I must be getting old, but I remember when a truck was for moving goods around, and i’m almost certain the truck builders put enough lights on to see and be seen with…
BENTON BROTHERS come to mind,i was parked at doncasters services one day & their was one parked either side of me & one of them had polished alloys diesel tank caps & at one point i thought they were going to start playin with themselves over them lol.
