They do, they ask you if you have anybody and straight away say they’ll get theirs because they want it moved, you don’t stand a chance, but for future reference I’ll ring mr bewick for his assistance with his flyin atki    I wish

Aye Larry,I had a Large Grouse and ice after dinner last night myself eh! regarding the photo though I was always more comfortable in my boilersuit and boots than in my “whistle” and shiny shoes  However as the years went by the “whistle” had to be worn more and more :frowning: The times I knackered shoes and suits with popping down the pits to look at summat,or got under a trailer for a “butchers” and at times jumping on a FLT in the yard  The best times though were turning up at breakfast time at one of the Drivers “watering holes” either in my whistle and in the car or regularly in my boilersuit driving a motor, either way I always got a right “stuffing” at the till, countless teas and usually a few breakfasts as well, didn’t mind at all  only trouble was, getting the brass back out of the petty cash tin, with no receipt,Anne had a firm rule “No receipt No money”,so I usually stood it out of “my arse pocket” eh! It wasn’t worth the hassle :frowning: Cheers Dennis.

Evening Dennis, as i have said on this thread before you have a great collection of photos and it makes for a great thread keep up the good work.Cheers Richard.

This is a late '70’s shot I took of our wrecker sailing under J36 northbound on a Sunday with one of Smith’s of Whiteinch on suspended tow to Taits at Carlisle, our wrecker driver said the Atki flew over Shap with the fully freighted F88. :sunglasses:

No need for power steering on that Atkinson     -
