143 mph (sat nav speed) in my 1979 sports car last week going towards Hamburg
Over 140 mph indicated on a Suzuki GSXR down the A338 into Bournemouth many years ago
75 mph in a Mercedes 814 towards Carmarthen in 2004 and I still have the tacho disc!

Wow - that is quick !! - I believe that is too fast for a speed camera, I am told that they can only snap you up to about 160 or 170 mph

If I remember correctly Top Gear did a section on this and proved it to be an urban myth

Maxed out my brothers Golf GTi turbo once early one morn. No idea what speed I was doing but I just about passed a Lomas Distribution powder tanker. He was loaded and I managed to get him on a hill.

140mph in my C30, private land of course. Not bad going for a Diesel.
An indicated 150 mph in a BMW E60 525d…very happy ticking over at the ton…pretty decent on fuel at those speeds as we’ll.
105 mph in a Peterbilt 377 Lwb tractor unit, powered by a real stump pulling Caterpillar 3406E…was very happy cruising comfortably all day at 80 mph

I’m sure I had 56 no-58 no-57 no-59-maybe 60 on the clock, on my Garelli Rekord !
I never could tell, because the needle wouldn’t stay still.
I over took a Bus once though ! Lol.
Must admit never been over 100mph, I’ve been driving for a living since I was 21. Always paranoid about getting points.
