Be honest, what the fastest you've driven on the road?

Bking:
Roadtested a BMW rr from Southport bmw

180 on the on slip of a “motor way” and more to go!!!

Not a bike a bloody starship.Freaky beast.

14 grand is a hell of a price for a suicide machine but WHAT a monster.

Wouldnt have got very bloody far though used 10 litres of fuel in 34 miles.
Still suppose you got to burn the fuel to get the power.

The new 2015 model is out soon so will pay the M58 another visit Yippee!

170 in my Nissan Skyline GTR I had just before I sold it in 2006. On my own private race track obviously.
Ive had a Passat estate for the last 8 years and I don’t think Ive ever taken it past 80. Cant be arsed anymore.

back in the 80s I was on night trunk from ackworth to Berwick and back, on the a1m southbound I could get the old seddon atki up to 78 mph, but always got overtaken by a Charlie alexander in a daycab it was something like saviem forgot now

DAF 3300 from Penwortham (Preston)
Even the micks couldnt catch them boys!

Happy days.

I’ve driven every fast car I’ve ever had absolutely flat out (no point in a normal car) I got nicked and banned for doing 139.7mph on the M3.

Fastest I’ve been was flat out in my guvnor’s Ferrari 512TR on the way back from the Monaco GP.

Fastest in a lorry was over 100mph in my old Peterbilt, that was on the level too, it was totally unlimited obviously, they eventually cut it down to 78mph.

Once took an ERF E SERIES 8 legger off the clock, well it was Friday and was still in Inverness at 9am. Fastest ive seen on a bike is an indicated 175 on a zx10.Now got an xjr 1300 which maxs out at 145,far more sensible.

Lucky bugger! You still got it? Any pics?
I’d buy myself a Pete 379 if I won the lottery! :sunglasses:

Yeah I was very lucky, no solicitor either, just me and my silver tongue :sunglasses:

I’ve got a Volvo VNL now, no more long nose Petes for me. I have a pic of the speedo nudging the ton somewhere, I’ll post it when I get time yo search it out.

In the early 90’s I drove an MAN 362. Coming towards Exeter from Plymouth fully loaded (38 ton) it was dragging up the hills and “em” making progress down the hills  . I pass this Mini full off youths (though I wasn’t much more than one at the time) going down one hill, and they comes past me “waving” :open_mouth: you know what I mean :imp: :imp: , going up the next, which was the last one before you hit the M5. Being young and foolish, as I crest that hill, I bangs down the peddle and keep it flat out  , pass this Mini as if its standing still :sunglasses: , flat out across the bay and as I start climbing up past the services, I glance down at the Tacho, the needle was right round on the stop past 80 mph :open_mouth: , and rev counter was still going up. I thought that maybe I’d seen those youths off at that point, and that maybe I’d come off the throttle now :sunglasses: .

Sorry, round about way off saying in excess off 80 mph.

That MAN was a bloody good truck

Done 115mph in a Ford Fiesta, that’s my limit. Been driven at 130mph+ a few times in other people’s vehicles.

85mph in my old man’s FL6. And I managed 116km/h in my truck down that first big hill on the A14. Thankfully I was in an analogue truck and my dog ate the chart before I managed to hand it in :grimacing:

Be interested to hear how fast others have got up to in limited trucks. Overheard someone getting turned over by a driver trainer once for doing 126km/h :astonished:
