It always makes me howl when I see or hear people bragging about how much they earn, it’s what you do with your earnings that counts not how much you earn.

No commonrail, you were indeed on the right track. The payslip shown is a generic one and not only that, but there was some erm…‘revealing data’ on the actual payslip posted which got mysteriously ‘edited’ by our friend last night at 11.23pm
I’d send you a PM with the full wage slip if I trusted you not to repost it on the forum but I don’t. You think what you want to think, those who actually are on the job or know someone who is know what the truth is.
And of course it looks generic from that part of it I posted, they use the same payroll software to generate the wage slips as many companies do so pretty much other than some customisation of the company logos and headers/footers anyone getting wage slips produced by the same software will look similar.

Indeed and eagerbeaver has called me out on that as well and been proven wrong. You’d think he’d have learned to give up by now but no, he continues to post baseless accusations like he has some narcissistic obsession with being outed as a liar.

Close but we were special (Evil be to him that evil thinks), right corps though.
Why is there so much disbelief on this forum? I reckon it’s jealousy and the fact some don’t like to think others are doing better than them.
It’s quite pathetic really.
Who cares what someone else earns?
Who cares if someone has a better job than you?
As long as you are happy with your job and can live comfortably. Who cares.

Quite, i give 100% at work so i want the best rate in the area when hours and graft are comparable.

Calm down mate. And when you have done so, please post your link to the £460 million Stobart debt you told us all about.

Maybe things have changed recently but when I took employment on I always knew the rate I was getting compared to others and knew that my wage would be increased in line or above others.

Yes, I used to give 100% at work and was well paid for it and happy with my employer. If a company in the area offered a little more I could not care less because I was happy with my job, conditions and the company I worked for.
In my earlier days however I seemed to move more because of the job rather than the rate of pay. As long as I enjoyed the work and I could live comfortably then I was happy.
I would say if you are prepared to move to another employer in the area just because they pay a slightly better rate of pay then you are not entirely happy with the job you are in.

You couldn’t be more wrong, i am very happy in my job, seriously, going to work is a pleasure.
Fortunately for most of my years i’ve been at the the higher end of transport wages, and no money isn’t everything or i wouldn’t be driving lorries at all, but it’s suprising how if you don’ keep an eye on what’s happening outside of your circle you can fall behind.
I packed in the transporters at one point and went supermarket driving, where i earned slightly more than on the cars for a job that was comparatively clean and easy but more importantly home after every shift.
Would i leave my current job for a slight wage increase?, no on all counts, but if someone came and offered the same hours and work (and treated me with the decency/respect i get where i am) and another £10k a year in me arse pocket then unless the job was likely to prove a short term only affair i’d be daft not to consider jumping ship.
Comparing wages is always a loaded question, how many and which days/hours, what sort of work, what job satisfaction if any, mutually respectful day to day ethos, lots more too, but with the mess we are about to enter economically due to this Covid scam job security is going to be the number 1 priority, which means i’m staying put.

In other words…you cared what rates other people were getting.
Jakey…you say you were ‘‘well paid’’ ?
I’m assuming your tag picture refers to the firm you worked for. (As mine is)
So…Pollock Scottrans well paid?
Really??

That’s exactly what I was saying or trying to say. I would never have moved for a slight increase and the wages I was on (back then) there was no chance of being offered 10k more.

Nope I never worked for them. The reason I selected that picture is because I drove an Atkinson like that one in my early days and at the time . Loved it.

That is a mk1 Borderer unless I’m mistaken…and you loved it? Seriously?
Are you some kind of masochist ?
I had a mk2,. presumably an improvement,…and that was bad enough.

OK maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but you know what it’s like looking back all these years. I loved it then but I’d probably hate it now.
I would like a go in one now for old times sake. I have some old cars and motorbikes so I’ve not completely forgotten how bad they were.
