A friend who has a plant hire business has suffered also from theft. He now has a sonic alarm that once it goes off, will make your ears bleed if you stay long enough!
With all due respect to your boss if he’s loosing as much as you say he isn’t doing much to prevent it, if he’s put fences up with razor wire and they’re getting in through the hedge still then he’s done a crap job. There is no point in putting a bit up, you need to do the whole lot. Its gonna cost a few ££ but he’s probably lost the same amount in fuel so far by your reckoning. Dogs are the best and cheapest option providing they are not domesticated as such, leave them in a compound in the yard and leave it open at night but you have to make sure it is enclosed to stop random people wandering in or the dogs escaping. If someone breaks in then its fair game.
And we all know what would happen if the scum were caught.
1.pay the fine in cash from the huge roll of notes in their pocket.

2.go to jail and rule the roost while inside.

Loving the pictures of the dogs on here - Beautiful dogs, Rottweilers. Shame that so many of them are badly trained and get a bad reputation. The pictures have made my missus go all gooey, so I’m hopeful for tonight

the sonic alarm as mentioned is a good idea , a few pubs have them and ive had one go off on me when setting an alarm and they make you feel dizzy and sickly but i doubt if they would work good outdoors ,
i think the main one is just shed loads of barbed wire everywhere even thru the hedges you mentioned and also cattle live fence could be an idea
or hire a rival gang of travelers and pay them in fuel as security ■■■ for tat n all that ( thats quite possibly a bad idea tho )

I used to work at corus steel. Stourton Leeds. (Next to the container base and ASD)
This happened a few times.
Atone point the chap in the container crane rang the police and told them He was sat in his crane cab watching peoplenick the diesel. The police officers drove to the front gate and jumped over into the yard.
At the same time the thieves were jumping over the back fence and hiding. Cops didn’t find any one so left site. The thieves jumped back into the site and cracked on stealing the diesel.
They had a large van up on the road at the side of the site and simply pumped the diesel out of the trucks. Into their van
It was calculated that over 4000 litres of diesel was stolen at once.
They then came back a few weeks In a row and did the same until we are sure all the trucks were dry over the weekend and the fuel caps were left unlocked. This showed the thieves that there was no point in damaging the fuel caps or trying to steal any more.
Personally I would knock the ■■■■■ out with an iron bar an make them disappear

bring the trucks home near mt each nite and dont lock the caps. no damage and very little to loose
Don’t store diesel,get a fuel card it will work out cheaper than losing tankfuls of fuel.Doesn’t stop them pinching fuel out of the vehicles.
A few hauliers have the tanks inside buildings that are secure.
Decent fence. Security lights. Guard with dog onsite all night making patrols.
