You need razor wire around the bottom of the fence with a live stock fence running though it
Dogs are the only way forward , ■■■■■■ hate dogs . not that I’m saying its ■■■■■■ …
Replace the diesel with water.
as above but dont replace it fully with water do a 50 50 mix of saltwater / diesel thats enough to mess up there car/machine , granted you will not be able to use the tank and have to fill up at a filling station for a while but its still cheaper than havin 200ltrs stolen per week ,
i guarentee a 50 50 mix of saltwater and diesel with totally ■■■■ there engines
a well trained dog in the right hands is the way forwards. but you can not leave one on your yard without it being controlled by a static guard aswell and warning signs at every entrance and exit to your yard meet knash the diesel fairys worst fear
Or better buy old tanks from a scrap yard or something and replace them with the original tanks, and just fill them up with ■■■■ which will mess there motors up

I would along with others sleep in the truck in the yard and wait for the scum. I have never had fuel taken from me but they were the vain of my life when dealing with incidents in my last job that involves diesel theftMaybe worth having a static caravan on site. leave the lights on, leave the TV on loud, and make sure it shows that someone maybe in there. Still think a group of drivers waiting in trucks with the curtains pulled till they arrived and beat the crap out of them

the problem with that is, if the criminals make an official complaint to the police that you assaulted them, then you would be in more trouble than they would

if they do a propper job, then they won’t be able to make a complaint. no point in doing half a job.
The copper who came round the other day did suggest a digger on site might come in handy, in certain situations!
Several drivers have suggested some nights out in the yard, but the boss is worried about them getting hurt, or possible repercussions from the dids - they had some problems a few years ago when the ■■■■■■ decided off their own back to tarmac the driveway one weekend, and then submit a bill for several thousand pounds. It lead to threats of burning down the house when he was asleep, people getting followed home and threatened, panic alarms being installed etc.
Electric fence and monitoring seems to be the way forward - I’ll make the suggestions to him, as well as security patrols etc. The chance of them ever getting caught and convicted is fairly remote, it seems all you can do to protect your property is make it so awkward that they go off and target somebody else.
(As an aside, why is ■■■■■ a banned word on this forum? I always understood it to be a derogatory word for the criminal travelling element, rather than the law-abiding gypsies, so why are we worried about upsetting sub-human scum like that?)

Agreed, but its not the main tank they’re going for, its the tanks on the lorries themselves, lately by taking the sender units out. Obviously if we mess around with them, we’re giving ourselves major problems as well. We’re all keeping the tanks as low as possible now, rather than filling up when we get in at night, meaning that we’re all queuing up to use the pump in the morning instead. Still doesn’t stop them taking what they can get though - ■■■■■■■■■

I just like to point out that it is not just the travellers who steal fuel now days. The polish are now nicking fuel also as well as the travellers.
Has you boss got any quotes on CCTV that sends messages to your phones and pictures alerting him to when there on site. You can also get the CCTV to alert the police on his behalf also to get that quicker response.
A couple of weeks ago, he watched them coming in on CCTV, and phoned the police there and then. They (the scum) were on site for about 30 minutes, all the while he was talking to the police. Several times he said ‘I’m going out there’, to be told don’t go, the officers are nearly there. They finally turned up 2 minutes after the ■■■■■■ had gone, from the opposite direction so didn’t even pass them.
Gary
They are pretty much taking the ■■■■ out of the company by simply coming back when they like. Not as if its just a one off is it. What ever happens it needs to be nipped in the bud now. Hit them and hit them hard.

Oh no - you know what you’ve done don’t you? How long do we reckon before a certain member appears?

dids Didicai is a term for travellers who are not of your own kin. So your implementing yourself there.
P ■■■■■ is banned because it is an offensive term and racism doesn’t have a place on this forum. It refers to all travellers not just the criminal element.

your yard sounds like it is in a remote place

I have a day and night ip camera set up which can be monitored from anywhere in the world it also uses motion detection software and will send text and emails when motion is detected… cost about £80.
Was surprised p@@@@ was banned also …
" ■■■■■ comes from the word pike, meaning toll road. Nothing else. Nothing derogatory. It is simply a short hand to describe a person who lives on the road. It’s just a bit quicker to say, quite wrongly, ‘■■■■■’, instead of ‘person from the traveller community who lives on the road’,"

I know of somewhere that did this. All quiet for a few days then one morning the 'dozer driver unlocked the tip gates and found the ‘dozers’ radiator, cab windows and controls shot to bits.
I think the only solution to the diesel fairies is the final one…
cctv with movement sensor alarm and remote cctv monitoring is the way to go, in comparison it can be fairly cheap and if you use a good security company/monitoring company then it can be well worth it…
as mickeyblue says its not only gypsies, we had alot of fuel theft, everyone blamed gypsies until the guy was caught, the guy ran a courier buisness which backed onto the yard, he was nicking the fuel to fill his vans, when it went to court there was very little fuel bought for the vans in comparison to the miles the vans had covered…
i,m not sticking up for the gyps but who is buying it from them■■? tbh if someone offered to fill my car up for a cheaper price then forecourt cost then i might be tempted, as i,m sure alot would…
