That might be true, but I would also think quite often once commercial sucess has been achieved, an artist is in a stronger place to do more of what they want to creatively, and don’t have to bow so much to the labels demands, or care so much about making huge sales.

It came to mind Mark Knopfler working with Heidi Talbot on a effectively folk album. I doubt it made him much income, he may have a soft spot for blondes like another of our esteemed NE residents.

This cover of a Willie Nelson track is (I think) splendid.

That is new to me. Thanks.
And I do take your point. I agree that although some bands get sloppy, some bands/artists/musicians do have a lot more to give.

Knopfler also played with singer / blues guitarist Rory Block back in '92. Country/Blues.

Nice, I hadn’t heard that before.

And even further from the topic, that song sung by Willie is on ‘A Horse called music’.

I have never had a tattoo, even though one of my best mates has a studio, but if I did I would be asking if you can do me a full back tattoo of Willie Nelson on a prancing horse, please?

Have you ever heard of the saying?

If you have nothing nice to say don’t say owt?

There are are tons of bands and singers I’d love to see, those are just a few off the top of my head. You know zilch about me or my music taste so jog on fella.

I’m glad someone else is here who knows Joe Satriani and seen him live when I went in the 90’s he was awesome and it was deafening.

Well news flash for you buddy I can’t stand Oasis at all and would not piss on them if they were on fire. I hate them and every single song they ever done and hate the pair of the useless ■■■■■■

And anyone can like or dislike anyone they want to music wise as can you.

All ones id liked to have see. some maybe I still can if they have yours again others well for obvious reasons I can’t.

Chill bro. Just ‘Roll with it’

Boom tish I see what you did there but I do passionately hate oasis, if an oasis sing comes on the radio I turn as low as I can do I can barely hear it just so I know it’s finished

Remember queuing up at Piccadilly box office to get tickets for oasis when they playerd at Maine road. Tickets wenrt for me
a mate asked me to as wasn’t working at the time so qued up for him get some tickets..
As others said think all the hype n stuff is load of rubbish there not that great.
But least there a band who does it and have worked hard. In the past And had some good hits
Not like many bands especially female bands who are famous just because they prance around in there undeware on stage etc ie Taylor swift etc.
Never really been one for bands going to gigs but after watching all the documentaries of late.
I’d of loved to of been at live aid. I was only 10 at the time so didn’t really take much interest in it back then

Just out of interest how old were you getting the tickets

I’d say he was 21. If he was 10 when Live Aid was on

Im just trying to gauge his generation because we all have that
Some we liked some we never took to

Most people didn’t see all of live aid it was broadcasting over a 24 hour period between 2 countries
If you did see the whole lot you were very lucky to stay awake
Im only talking about my experience but it started off very, (how would you put it unconvincing) that it was not going to work
And then queen came on and then bowie and the rest
It made a better future for some bands and destroyed others
But it was good and never to be forgotten
