Bands you wish you'd have seen, or want to see

I saw REM in Cardiff stadium, in fine form as always, and also Simple Minds at the same venue.

‘‘Now and then’’..

I can see I’m converting ya.:joy:

Just having a Sunday blast :musical_note:.. cause the prick next door is doing his diy. Beach Boys have definitely got to be up there for me too.

Thats the one :ok_hand:

Never done it for me tbh.
You sound like me, you like any music or artist if you think they are good, you like them and don’t give a flying wotsit if ridiculed because of it.

I got stick on here for recommending Mart Pellow’s podcast sessions at home during lockdown..
I know ‘Wet wet wet’ was a teenage based band in the 80s, but so were The Beatles in the 60s,.and the guy can sing.

I think that some do overrate them.
A very big and influential group, but they ain’t God…that is Eric’s name of course.

Re- Zappa: He probably will have done something that will appeal at least a bit, but there will also be summat that will leave you absolutely cold. 62? albums to choose from. Good chance of hitting summat that doesn’t appeal as much as summat that does.
Not typical…but try this 12" disco version…

Mate ‘Sweet little mystery’ is a banger

I stumbled on old episodes of heartbeat now that’s a generation thing
The music in the show is basically late 60s to very early 70s and all well known tracks
It just takes you back, im only short of getting up and dancing

Yeah Heartbeat had a fantastic soundtrack.

Ain’t that the truth.. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m sure I’ve heard that Dancin Fool track…maybe not that vetsion
Did somebody cover it.
Can’t say it floats my boat tbh.

Eric?
Clapton?..

A bit too ‘‘poppy’’ for me…assuming you are being serious btw…aint got you completely sussed yet.
Temptation is a good track for me.
That opening line…'When the big guns start shooting is a bit goosebumpy…fond memories which I aint going into.:joy:

Yeah its a top tune! They’re not a band I’m really familiar with tbh, other than the few obvious hits.

“Dancin Fool” is a Zappa original and was one of the few singles he ever released. Not really my thing either, but it did get to 45 in the US, although “Valley Girl” got even higher, up to 32.
Here is Sting and Zappa jamming on stage: https://youtu.be/ToReX88lzkk?si=4JrqwX0NA09u-CCQ

Our local rugby club Glasson Rangers has a music festival every year with local artists, the festival is called Glassonbury.

I have a list of over 1200 tracks on my phone for listening in the car, it consists of 50s, 60s, 70s, 80, 90s and modern stuff, musical theatre, rap, rock, pop, country, grunge, techno, a total eclectic mishmash of songs.

I quite like Sting’s stuff, even if he is well up his own arse since he left The Police.

I think I know what you mean.
Some rock bands can be like boxers. They need to be hungry and aggressive. Success makes them flabby.
Other forms of music may not need to have such a raw edge, and some bands do avoid the soft trap.

Would like to see Clapton once more, before he turns 'round the corner.

Sadly missed seeing BB King, Van Halen, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits play live.

Would love to see/hear Lemmy growling “is it loud enough” once more…
