Anybody doing the new hours

Conor:

dozy:
Have Coventry - goole - Norwich- goole , so
I think I will need 11 hr drive , might still
Not be enough

If that isn’t down as a night out you need to find another employer.

What planner plans dozy does.
Like the use of the word ‘might’ btw

Fear not guys as I’m sure super trucker Dozy is well stocked up with pot noodles and oranges

Got back to goole , used new driving hours then wrote the bit extra on a printout , stuck behind various tractors

  ■■■■ me! :open_mouth: …So even the extra hours ain’t enough for you now doze.
Comedy gold.

Telling myself he’s on a wind up, surely .

Never mind doze, now you’ve achieved it, they’ll deffo be giving you the same job to do tomorrow now …,.so at least you know what you’re doing for rest of week.

chaversdad:
Tbh i find the handiest part of the relaxed rules is the 5.5hrs before a break is needed, how many times have you had to stop for a 45 5 minutes from a drop because you got delayed somewhere, not at the moment

^^^ +1

Ive used this once, 5.06hrs driving to make a booking after being ■■■■d about by the customer [■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ …I was on time thanks to the “new” rule, but there were a few chin stroking moments from the “office” when the times made it back to the “fuhrer” :unamused:

They were “unaware” of the new rules apparently :open_mouth:

And Ive used it on a double-man job we do, where the timings are just a tad too tight normally for one driver, but easily achieved with a “spare” 11 to use as & when needed…2 shifts saved since the inception…I`ve done all the “out of gauge” stuff, so no puppies were harmed, and the customer was kept sweet…

I agree it’s gotta be a wind up.
Somehow I doubt “stuck behind various tractors” is a valid reason the DSVA will accept for exceeding his driving hours, especially as there’s a couple of MSA’s/truckstops and dozens of lay-bys on the route to Goole he could have stopped in without exceeding the extended hours.

I’ve always had dozy down as a wind up merchant, he surely can’t be genuine :bulb: …or can he? :open_mouth:
I still try and stick up for him on here from time to time, just in case he is  …even though he turned on me the other week.
Even if he is having a laugh it’s a break from the same old mundane stuff on here, sat navs spring to mind…yawn ■■■■ yawn.

Yep don’t reckon that DVSA would wear that one for driving over the already extended hours, especially with his (alleged) record.
If he carries on like that he’ll be sharing an ‘apatrment’ with Limeyphil.

I read it as the “extra bit” was between 10hrs but before 11hrs?

Either way, ■■■■ that.

retarded troll fits the bill for me.
same format, same predictable fishing waiting for someone to bite.
just ukjakedrdamonrowley and the rest spouting the same predictable mince,

on a plus side as sad as they may be,like you said, its a different option to satnav and first night out equipment though at least those repetitive questions appear to be genuine.
putting up a couple of stickies would kill those topics but then i assume the site traffic takes a hit.

Our lot want us to keep to existing limits.

I have helped out with the odd OT day when asked which i wouldn’t normally do, they never ask unless struggling, still well under existing limits.

Was just about to say that there already is on the ‘Frequently asked questions’ forum, but just checked it out, there is a ‘night out kit’ thread, but would you believe not a ‘which sat nav’ one ! :open_mouth: … the most repetitive, frequently asked, mind numbingly boring subject on Trucknet :bulb: , (not to mention the most embarrasingly cringeworthy when you discover how totally some of these guys rely on em. :unamused:)

No rob done oxford - bookers eastleigh - Makro/ bookers poole - Milton Keynes then heading for ■■■■■■■■■■■ - then morr Wakefield - Coca Cola Wakefield - Tesco litchfield & empty back yard fri night/ sat morn , roads are getting busier so not a good omen to make Friday night but fingers crossed & new rules might just get me home .
Lots are starting back who were furloughed so I’d start drying out now , tea instead of beer lol

The government have extended the max daily driving limit
From 10 hrs to 11 hrs , reduced daily rest from 11 hrs to 9 hrs ,
Extended 4 1/2 hr driving to 5 1/2 so it’s
Possible for me to get pop , crisps to
The supermarket shelf’s
So I’m sure theyl be fine knowing one of
There key workers ( there definition) not
Mine went a few mins over there new limit
So he could park somewhere safe , have a shower & something
To eat

Look doze I ain’t going to knock anybody who is still working whilst I’m off mate…far from it.
Even though you did say ‘‘I would be sat on my arse drinking beer all day’’ …I ain’t btw, trust me.

As I’ve said before, good on anybody who is still.working amongst all this crap, and putting yourselves at risk however slight or severe you personally all individually think those risks may be.

My whole point of this thread was to see how many were using these rules and for what reason. :bulb:

My main personal problem and general beef with the new rules was despite the honourable and arguably essential motive and reason for reviewing them, I just thought it was a bit rich and a bit of a ■■■■ cheek to expect drivers to basically go over their time when it’s been drummed into us forever that it was dangerous and a contravention to road safety to the point of those that did being virtually a public enemy, but hey…suddenly it’s perfectly safe, it’s no longer a cause of death on the road to (broadly speaking for purpose of my point) to drive whilst tired.
(That and the lesser reason of the public looking at us as underclass, but now they admit they’re relying on us (you) and also the way the lack of facilities that are continuosly and conveniently ignored by the same Government advocating all this. :bulb: )

Bearing that in mind doze, and with your personal history of having a legal ■■■■ storm brought down on your lugs a couple of years ago for going over your time or under your rest period…(or whatever,)I would have thought that you or anybody having the same experiences would have been of the absolute same opinion, …and YOU the absolute LAST bloke to willingly play along with all this. :open_mouth:

Put it this way doze, if I like yourself, had been parked up, humiliated, bollocked and fined heavily with endorsements as you were, for what is essentially for doing similar driver hour/rest patterns then, …to what is now suddenly deemed legal and safe, :open_mouth: my reply to the Government (and planners) who expected me to adhere to them would be a resounding ‘‘■■■■ YOU.’’.

I know you’re often on a wind up on here I get that, but you ain’t the most astute guy doze to sticking to the rules and bending them (you’re even bending the new one ffs ! :unamused: ) so when all this gets back to normal, and you get nicked for going over again, for sneaking home, or for insufficient rests…how you gonna feel about it mate? :bulb:

#bangingmyheadagainstabrickwall.

I wasn’t done for going over my max driving hours rob , I was done because I drove over
My max daily driving without a card in
If I’d of left the card in and write on a
Printout there would not of been a issue according to vosa, Dvsa solicitor & company compliance officer ( none of them could understand why I hadn’t just left in
Card & wrote on a printout
So I’ve done what they said , go over your maximum daily driving time ( and I’m talking of
Mins as before ) , leave in card & write on printout & it won’t be a issue .
If I was doing it everyday you’d probably
Have issues , but it’s 0nce since these new hours began
As I say rob it was the driving without digital - card in that was the issue , not the mins over max driving time

I would add rob I’ve just tried to explain to a planner who’s changed my work that if I
Start at 5 am then as I’ve already done 3x15 I will be out of hours at 18.00 ,
He just said use new hours !! This why I said stay at home as long as you can as planners are having a field day with these new hours !!

I’ve got Sheffield and barnsley

They’ll only push if you let them push. I phoned tonight asking what tomorrow 's plan is, got told, did the mental calculations and said “nope, not happening, give me something else” the response was “ok, leave it with us we’ll change it” .

Not rocket science and certainly not difficult to do.

Exactly…Just because these ■■■■ s tell you to do it, does not mean you have to do it.
And if you’re daft enough to attempt it, (or worse achieve it :unamused: ) you become a target for them, and treated as an absolute mug thereafter.
I bet after they spoke to you they’d next be on the phone to the obligatory yes man to get on with it. :bulb:
