I hope I’m never as perfect as your good self.
Why can some people not understand plain english?
When did I say I was perfect? Somebody else did but I certainly did not because I am not.Might be the same person that accused me of blaming every crash on lorry drivers.Something else I never said.
Same with the one lane on a motorway business…he or she has still not clicked…doh.

Double post, sorry.
Double posts…missing out letters…only one lane on a motorway…must be a perfect driver!
Very rich coming from you,
How many lanes are there then?
1 and the other 2 are overtaking lanes
But usually 3, sometimes 4 and occasionally 5.
There’s 11 lanes at Coleshill M42, M6, M6 toll split

my bad habit is getting angry with cyclists riding on the road when there is a perfectly good cycle lane at the side of said road maybe you can explain albion 1971 why they do that
Probably will have something to do with crap unprofessional lorry driver throws rubbish from his/her window making cycle way hazardous resulting in cyclist being forced onto the road.
obviously another cyclist finding an excuse not to use a cycle lane

+1 yes grrrrrrrrrrr
Ah yes +2. Although in their defence in Oxford City, one minute the cycle lane is part of the road, then there’s the green “squash lane” then the cycle lane goes back on the path then disappears altogether. I noticed yesterday that if you follow the cycle lane exactly, you ride an erratic course where you appear and disappear in passing traffics’ mirrors.
i can understand it sometimes, but if any driver has ever delivered to kingston upon thames and gone down the hampton court road there is a very good cycle lane with no breaks in between and the full length of the hampton court rd and the cyclists still use the road, they have no excuse there

I can. Most cycle lanes are very badly designed in the first place: a lot of the on road ones put the cyclist right in the danger zone on the left of a line of left turning cars, or if (when) someone opens the door of a parked car (that is, assuming the parked car isn’t actually blocking the cycle lane); a lot of the off road ones are massively inconvenient, being used by pedestrians or simply covered in broken glass and dog ■■■■. In addition, even a lapsed commuter cyclist like me is capable of keeping up 15-20mph without too much effort, and this is way too fast to be going on a shared use path. Lastly, there’s no legal requirement to use cycle lanes, cyclists have every right to use the road on equal terms with any other road users and long may that continue. Cyclists are not in the way of traffic - they are traffic.

My sarcasm was wasted

my mistake chap, apologies to you

it’s alright complaining about everyones ability too drive, but how do you fix the broken driving standards is a more pressing question.
Maybe use industry sized vehicles instead of 7.5 tonne vehicles plated to 12 tonne with the smallest trailer permissible for training and tests

You sound like a certain sort of car driver complaining about lorries.
I’ve never been held up behind a cyclist for long.
MAGNATOM. Does anyone remember his angry anti lorry posts.

You can’t say ■■■■ then apparently
And ■■■■ is out too. But ■■■■■ is perfectly acceptable.

I remember Mag as a fellow regular poster on the Cycling Plus and CycleChat forums. I never agreed with everything he said or did, but in fairness, he did have - through no fault of his own - a very close shave with a tanker which pulled out in front of him at speed on a roundabout. He wasn’t particularly anti lorry: I remember also that he was involved in a project to make a short film highlighting he dangers of cycling in the blindspot of lorries, for which I volunteered to drive the lorry. It never came to anything, but the intentions were good.
there’s room for all of us on the roads. Granted, there are inconsiderate idiots on bikes, but - as the Interlink wrong-way-round-a-roundabout thread shows, there are also inconsiderate idiots driving trucks. People on bikes are ultimately allowed to use the roads and are, as often as not, simply trying to get from A to B like the rest of us.
