Shouldn’t the title of this thread be changed to…
Agency v Real drivers
Or
Agency v The employable
how can fulll time drivers, who earn a lot less than agency drivers, feel there some sort of better class of driver ?
to me being full time earning less money = wally
being full time earning less money and having a cpc card = double wally
the smart drivers got out of the game as they will not work for such low pay even agency rates dont match up to what the money should be in the game, while the guys run around rdc depots for all hours trying to make a few quid, how can they not even ask themselves the question why are secruity guards earning the same or more than themselves ? why do the fork lift guys get more money and only have to do a few hours per week ?
the bright drivers who value themselves have left the game, the new guys are just in love with driving a big truck and that will wear off in time so they will work for peanuts just so long as they can have a name plate in the window.
at least the agency guys are more skillfull as they go to so many different firms have to learn all the ways the firms do things and find the drops etc were as the full timers will know there job backwards and are to scared to leave
i can remember a full timer in a place i used to go years ago refusing to take a load as he didnt know where the place was ■■? and he got away with it as well and it was passed on to the agency guy to do the job
so full time = wally on peanuts in my mind
even the tanker game is a fraction of what it once was, thanks to the wallys who have no back bone
so it doesnt matter to me much if there agency wallys or full time wallys
Should I be amazed that Trucknet’s so called professional full-time drivers are happy to portray themselves as losers-in-life, you’re effectively confirming on a public forum you cannot make your own way in life or stand on your own two feet without a paternalist employer or a contract of employment to keep you propped up lifelong, so your servile dependence upon another is something to boast about is it?, along with portraying yourselves as such dullards you cannot grasp the concept of people acquiring incomes simultaneously through more than one source, do what?, in upwardly mobile Britain 2015?, just how deep is that rut of unenterprising uninspiring predictability that your lives are stuck in, you do realize that you are a LONG TIME DEAD.
Your employers know they’re going to be a long time dead, that’s why they live their lives with the most resolute of plans never to be amongst the ranks of the losers-in-life, that’s you their servile full-time employees, things in life like a seven figure sum primary residence, a six figure sum secondary residence, bespoke holidays, bespoke automobiles; I’m sure you get the picture, are the things in life that are of far greater importance to them than signing a contract of lifelong low waged servitude, to spend their ONE-AND-ONLY life repeatedly for days/weeks-on-end in a tiny tin box.
For many to be cooped-up overnight in ‘sleeper cabs’ of such laughable dimensions their EU masters who dictate the size of them wouldn’t accept them as a toilet cubicle, I doubt your employers would laugh off having to crap at the roadside here in the ‘first world’ with the indignity of refugees in the ‘third world’ to satisfy the fanatical enforcement of their EU masters tachograph regulations, so the things in life that aren’t remotely good enough for your employers are plenty good enough for you, that I can truly believe, but if you believe I’ve got it wrong tell me why your employers wouldn’t be seen dead in your shoes, if I had ever existed as you do I would have done my level best to conceal that even from my children, some of you full-time drivers are some right chimps, the more you say the more you qualify for the Foot in Mouth award.
And before anyone tells me to get off my ‘high horse’ by claiming this thread is mere banter or togue-in-cheek, the Trucknet neanderthals contributing to agency-slating; when and wherever possible, might care to proffer an explanation to the more advanced in society how any person with any degree of bodily infirmity is at all an acceptable subject for public ridicule, based upon their bodily ailment?, what next a thread that overlooks the ridiculing of those with only one eye, or judging by your entourages desperation for cheap laughs someone totally blind, they would be easy pushover, right up Trucknet’s ethical back alley, having had at one time five pins in a leg and three till I die if you Trucknet dumbasses attempted to ridicule me face-to-face for my limp you would pay a price such that the devil would weep for you, oh and congratulations trucknet neanderthals on maintaining your standard of threads and posts that ensure Trucknet remains to the world of professional drivers what a Star-trek convention is to the world of professional astronauts.

Awwww I think I’m gonna Cry … how sweet is that?
Just had a vision of the ‘Ghost’ film, potters wheel love scene, with Conor sat at the wheel, modeling clay (with hi viz on ) and dozy stood behind him, hands on his shoulders, with "Unchained Melody’’ (Ohhhhh my love, my darling) playing romantically in the background.
A Trucknet match made in Heaven
Lorn trakata mate, after reading your last post…can I just suggest that you may be taking this thread a little bit too seriously.
Just saying like.
I aint driving at the moment, so have no axe to grind.
The days of old and the image of ‘knights of the road’ has long since gone. Average car driver out there just sees the trucker blocking off the middle lane and doesn’t give a monkeys if the driver is agency, or directly employed that is delaying them.
Most folks out there just want their cornflakes on the supermarket shelves, their new lawn mower delivered to B&Q and the barrels full in their local pub. Does anyone really believe they have any interest at all in how the delivery driver that brought it is employed, what there nationality is, how many hours they have worked that week, or what their long term prospects are? Bit like the rest of us going out for a meal and not giving a toss on what deal the waiter is getting.
NONE of it matters dudes… Virtually nobody respects truck drivers anymore.

God how boring are you…
Is “you Trucknet dumbassess” a sweeping statement or directed at any individual?Either way it makes you’re little rant about ridiculing people on the internet somewhat ironic.
.
I hate agencies for everything they stand for, and for everything they have done over the years that I have been in the job, towards spoiling this industry.
However, I have nothing against agency drivers, and if it suits their way of life, fair play to them.
Full time employment suits me, and I personally think that it is a better method of employment,…but everybody is different, so everybody has a choice of which path they go down, so each to his own.
But many use agency as FULL time employment. Regular placments min a week. know the week before. contracted guaranteed income probably higher than the average salary. Not stuck in a rut doing the same thing day in dat out. Really dont get why so many personal insults constantly trolled in every thread. If employers paid a decent wage i bet many agaency would take it up.

Not every employed full time driver is ‘in a rut’ as you say either, …a lot actually enjoy the type of work they do, as I am sure a lot of agency drivers enjoy being so.
Agencies the way I see it are middle men/parasites creaming off a large part of what could be a good rate paid direct to the driver.
Originally they ‘hired in the services’ of a driver, nowadays in a lot of cases they treat drivers in a cynical way, holding them over a barrel ‘punishing’ them if the driver has the audacity (in their eyes) to say No, and in general purely and simply ■■■■ them around to their own ends.
Not every agency driver crashes trucks and walks with a limp! but that is what i was saying Regarding pay If employers paid min what agencys do then im sure most would take a full time job. its not the agency’s fault employers pay crap. Personally i dont see the logic in doing the same job for at least 10k a year less.
Lorn trakta I have just finished carefully reading your post, a task made all the easier by it being so well written and constructed. You are obviously very articulate and have thought a lot about presentation etc.
It is a shame then, that I found the content of your post to be a rant which, in my opinion, was largely waffle and " nowt to do wi owt " as we say in Yorkshire.
Regards. John.

you forgot the bit where Dozy hasn’t read the elf and safety booklet for the potters wheel, being I a rush collides with conor which in turn sends the clay all over the wall breaking several high value items.
dozy then posts online about how the clay was too wet and it wasn’t his fault.
I never knew agency bods bit as bad as they do

Assuming that was an answer to MY post…, yeh that’s right, but I didn’t say they did, it was somebody else.
Really thought this nag had been whipped way passed being slimy, smelly and falling to bits but you guys just keep it going.
Anyway 4 more runs this week, then a week destroying the environment on a quad-bike (spraying ragwort, thistles, nettles &etc), then tractors for a few months then maybe back to LGVs. Somehow in among all that I need to update my PA1, 2 & 6 tickets at £300-£500 a time and collect enough points for my proof of continuing professional development, as if the DCPC isn’t enough
I no longer walk with a limp, divorce and a chiropractor sorted that problem out
