Well it looks like Adelaide won’t be getting my business this year, just had my renewal quote through, £868 they want, not a chance am I paying that, already got it down to £630 with direct line

Tell Adelaide the quote - be surprised if they don’t at least match if not better it.

I did try and phone them this morning to let them know I wouldn’t be renewing as they were too expensive, but was on hold for ages, will give them a ring Monday some time, id want them to beat it, if they just match it, I’ll still leave as I don’t like companies that match after giving a ridiculous renewal quote, give me a cheap price in the 1st place is how I see it.

this^

Most of them have their dirty little tricks.

I changed my car last week to a smaller engined car and only slightly newer. They said if I did the changes online there would be no admin fee, although it would cost me £50 EXTRA.
I then went on a comparison site, faffed about as you do - well time consuming it was too. Decided upon a brand new policy, clicked to buy and then message came up that there was a problem, blah blah, blloks. Rang them in the morning and then she went through the whole charade again with me and then told me that because I hadn’t taken it out immediately (the day before) it was now an extra £45. :imp: Was informed the price changes every day. What utter Boolsh!t.

Funny the price never comes down.

£173 fully comp peugeot 206 12yrs no claims POST OFFICE

i’m on my 2nd year with them and to be fair they have been good changed my car they sorted it out no fuss got my renewal and i shopped around i didn’t get near there price so i renewed with them so far so good

my insurance is up beginning of feb and i will give them a bell.

And as I mentioned before but it went unnoticed they will match or beat anyone with your house insurance.

I use them. Always beat any quote I got however they only match or beat by pennies any comparison site quote. I messed up said my re quote was 320 they said we will do it for 300 my lowest quote was actually 380 so he said I’ll match it the 320 isn’t valid. Not good in my eyes but still the cheapest with everything thrown in.

Adelaide wanted £868 for my car insurance renewal, go on money supermarket and get a quote for £471, ring Adelaide to tell them, they give me a new price of £440, nearly half the bloody price, 5 mins on the t’internet saved me well over £400

just renewed my insurance with adelaide £312 fully comp for a 2.9 granada scorpio cossy my renewal quote from direct line was £590 saving me £270 result

Echo what others have said re: beating any other quote.

My initial renewal quote from Adelaide was £897 :open_mouth:
This seemed a little excessive for a Passat diesel driven by someone with a clean licence & max no-claims, even if my postcode seems to be on a par with war-zones when it comes to insurance matters :unamused:

Best quote on Confused.com £290, went back to Adelaide with proof of quote and they’ve come back with a new quote of £268.

£600 saved :sunglasses:

I wouldn’t say you saved 600 bangers mate. I would say Adelaide tried to take the ■■■■ and con you out of £600 and you were lucky you had the brains to shop around first. Just out of principle, I’d have taken the confused.com for their cheek in offering to renew at nearly £900.

How many people fall for that kind of dirty scam I wonder?

Agree 100% with everything you say mate, but Adelaide beat the best Confused quote by £20 and that’s an extra £20 in my pocket to spend on more important things like beer and pork scratchings :grimacing:
Was paying £720 this year, so just pleased to get a decent reduction on that.

All these insurance companies will try it on, the AA offered me a ‘special members rate’ quote of £907.
Got a quote on Confused of £328…from the AA :unamused:

Moral of the story is definitely shop around.

I’ve got a cat c but don’t use it. I’m a train driver. I’m hoping to go back k on the coaches soon and my renewal isn’t till march so hopefully I’ll be back using my pcv by then.

What■■? You want to give up trains and go back on the road!!! Have you lost the plot?

Part time sorry lol

Adelaide not only came in cheaper than anyone else but also £50 cheaper than our cover with them last year… happy bunnies :astonished: :grimacing:

Just renewed on the phone with Adelaide, fully comprehensive, £250 excess, myself and my girlfriend as named drivers, 2.5 litre V6 Rover Sterling… £199.59 :sunglasses:

Mine and hers both with them again this year, beat everyone else by a chunk

Just to add they won’t insure any van / pickup. Cars and bikes only.

They were bugging me about contents insurance but wouldn’t give a price. Too late now as they never phoned when they said they would and its renewed with another company.

That’ll explain why I couldn’t get an online quote from them for my van.
