A religion question for Robroy, but will he give me a straigh

Sploom:
You are right. My beliefs are divisive.
What did our leader (Jesus)say about division?

Mathew 10

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

So instead of respecting and appreciating the good work and intentions of even other christian religions, you’re basing your incredible arrogance and lack of tolerance on Chinese whispers.
There’s nothing christian about that attitude.

How can you say Christ’s words are not Christian?
The statement contradicts itself.
Jesus Christ was the founder of Christianity so being a Christian means following His word.It doesnt mean making it up as you go along.

Of course I appreciate everuthing I have or if someone helps me ,I appreciate that too!

So the obvious question there is…
Do YOU love an imaginary being more than your Mam, Dad, wife, kids? :open_mouth:

Sadly knowing you (loosely speaking) I can predict your answer. :unamused:

Do you accept christs words as truth? Wasnt he a socialist?

Robroy, yes but it’s not a question that comes up because the two things are different. It’s like,if you are marrying a girl,if she loves her dad more than you.The two questions are too seperated for there to be a comparison,if that makes sense.

Jesus, be he the lord, a profit or fast talking illegitimate son of Mary and Joseph, was a Jew, not the founder of Christianity. He’d been dead for fifty years before Christianity began.
Christianity was based on the hearsay teachings of the aforementioned Jesus.
Can you offer any proof as to the accuracy of the bible, in view of the fact that nothing was recorded in writing until a century after Jesus’ death?
Since the written recording of previously oral history, passed down through multiple generations, it has been translated (mis)interpreted and barstewardised numerous times.
Nobody can truthfully guarantee the accuracy of any bible.

Good question but I’m not sure about that.
Ive had to google it!

currentaffairs.org/2020/09/ … -socialist

Me,if I came into a huge amount of money,I would be happy to give it away,I couldn’t justify holding onto extreme wealth in a world where there are so many people in need.

Wasnt something I was aware of much but I remember Tony Benn saying there was a big tradition of christian socialism.

Now you’re doing a Carryfast, putting words into my mouth. I said your attitude and lack of tolerance were unchristian like, a vast difference.

> Jesus Christ was the founder of Christianity so being a Christian means following His word.It doesnt mean making it up as you go along.

Sploomy, you have surpassed even your most outlandish claims with this.

Christianity wasn’t created until many years after J ‘H’ Christ was dead & buried, or evaporated as you believe.

The Christianity we have is based on the Nicean Conference in AD325 called by the Roman Emperor Constantine, one of its purposes was to create a Religion that Romans could follow and hence slow down the demise of the Roman Emperor.

Your version of Christianity Sploomy has nothing to do with Christ at all and is an American (USA) invention, although it carries on the anti-social and unpleasant practices of the Pilgrim Fathers who were hounded out of Europe for said practices.

Going further back, your Christianity evolved from a completely new version created by Henry 8th in 1534. This act signalled the beginning of the English Reformation, heralding the start of bloody religious tensions across England that would last centuries and claim thousands of lives.

To this day Christians still blame their actions on the ‘Supposed’ word of J ‘H’ Christ, for example:- neglecting their children & spouses as God tells them to love him more.

An interesting side note to Sploomy’s suggestion that Christians put God first & family second.

In the 7th Century (Some time after Henry 8 created his version of Christianity) Mohammed sent a messenger to the ruler of Egypt - Al-Muqawqis a Coptic Christian - inviting him to Islam.

Al-Muqawqis’ response was to send him gifts: The gifts were: two girls Maria bint Shamoun and her sister Serine, a thousand bag of gold and twenty dresses.

When the gifts reached Mohammed, he chose Maria to be his wife and granted her sister Serine to his poet, Hassan ibn Thabit.

IIRC, Mohammed also had a Jewish wife as well as a Christian wife, but no evangelicals then as Columbus had not long discovered America and so insufficient time for the loonies to appear there.

And there we have it…the usual cop out non answer when asked an awkward question.
A similar response when I asked what your views were on gay people.
You come out with all this ancient crap,.and stop short of having the courage of your convictions.

If you had any character at all you would say the same thing I would if asked that question…ie ‘‘My wife and family come before any thing and any body,…without exception or question’’
So you are either a bit short of loyalty or your backbone is quivering in case you upset…''The Elders ‘’. :unamused: …or both.

Ok,I love Jesus more than anyone else including anyone else in my family.
And I love all the LGBT people too!
Is there anything else?

Sploom:

No not really …apart from me saying if that is the case , I dont know about LGBT, but feel sorry for your poor family.

The thing is ,it’s an odd question because the love you have for different things can’t always be compared like for like.Does my wife love her daughter more than me,does she love her parents more.Does she love herself more?Does she love God more?
All these relationships run parallel to each other and they are natural, within God’s design and more importantly, they arent a threat to each other. So,if I said I loved a certain person or thing or money more than my family then that would be wrong and you could call me out on that

■■■■■■■■…answer the question it aint hard.
Do you love Jesus more than your family wife kids .■■
2 different things fair enough
So…Do I love Newcastle Utd more than my family?
NO
There ya go, your turn.

I already answered your question.I dont know why you have to be rude.

No. No. No.

That won’t do. You yourself quoted the word of your lord

. “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoev6-er does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life 6for my sake will find it.

So, you can not love your wife or children more than your ever loving God.

Or, you will go to hell.

Problem is, we don’t want your sort there…

So limbo it is for you…

Rude?

Try burning people alive, for not submitting to your particular make believe fairy tale…

That’s rude.

(,I can go for a bit on this, look up Spanish inquisition, for an introduction into religious hatred)
