Yes,they will give you stick. There are people this forum would have me hung, drawn and quartered if they could,

I think you place waay too much importance on yourself mate and attempt to credit people with emotions you’re not qualified to dispense.

As for your statement ā€œyou either love God or hate Godā€ does the word ambivalence have any meaning to you? You could also use the same word to describe peoples opinions of you here rather than hate.

Sploom:
Yes,they will give you stick. There are people this forum would have me hung, drawn and quartered if they could,Im sure,

Like I said a few days ago, evangelizing Christians are narcissists, as you have adequately demonstated just there, you’re not that important for people to feel that level of animosity, mostly this is just ā€œsportā€.

Isn’t ā€œprideā€ a ā€œsinā€? I think in a way you’re ā€œproudā€ you are being ā€œpersecutedā€, I bet it makes you feel more holy, like you’re doing a good job, because according to your big-book-of-fairy-tales, your man JC told his followers they would be persecuted so they should expect this, so you feel inwardly validated.

You get grief for being a nutjob, it just so happens your nuttiness is misogynistic, homophobic, anti-science, anti-rational-free-thought, God-bothering nuttiness. The ā€œstickā€ you get is for trying to promote fairly vile nonsense.

If you dropped that and became a flat-earth, world-government, vaccines-are-filled-with-nano-trackers nut-job, you’d still get grief for that kind of nuttiness.

Jehovah’s witnesses !.., :open_mouth:
When you see em in your street, coming towards you (or worse they knock on your door :open_mouth: .) …you avoid them like a floating turd in a swimming pool.

And now Winseer reveals to us all that he is a ā€˜one of them’.
I’ve only one thing to say,.and I’ll shut up…

ā€˜ā€˜Quelle surprise Rodders …quelle surprise’’ .

Sploom said previously he left school at 15 with no qualifications (odd, because even in 1978 we had to be 16 to leave school), so he’s going to need a link for that word

Pride is indeed an ugly sin and Im always glad if Im called out for falling into it.Its something I want ti avoid like the plague.
Luke 6:26 ā–ŗ

New International Version
Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

But here,Jesus warns us that if everyone speaks well of you,be careful. Now,I dont think anyone is speaking well of me on this forum,so hopefully Im in the right ballpark!

ā—„ Luke 6:22
New International Version
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Ma
n.
While trying not to be proud,I have to also be aware that I am blessed when people hate me for being a Christian,so ,much as Im happy to get the extra brownie points,I would much much rather people accepted the gospel message of salvation

Matthew 5:11-12
New International Version
11 ā€œBlessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before

Is it all part of being over the top religious , having a (literal) persecution complex?
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and playing the victim, it just shows weakness and poor character. :unamused:

Here’s someone else who won’t be a practicing gynacologist any longer…

I assume that this is what the above joke - refers to, of course…

Sploom:
Yes,they will give you stick. There are people this forum would have me hung, drawn and quartered if they could,Im sure, because I proclaimed the good news but its only good news if you believe. One of the elders told me there is no middle ground with God.You are either running towards Him or running away. You either love Him or hate Him.
I dont agree with the JW religion.I am only here because of a blood transfuson. Also, they dont believe in Hell. Now,I dont like the idea of the unsaved suffering eternal torments but as soon as you believe in a good God,you have to accept Hell.God has to be just and He must punish sinners and because you sinned against an infinitly good God,the punishment must be infinitly bad too

The trouble with the Good News is that those who don’t believe, or even want to hear it - are the same ones who don’t believe there’s such a thing as Heaven and Hell, meaning that therefore any lies, misdeeds, and outright disgusting behaviour is fully justified providing it gets you and yours ahead.

This is the mantra and ā€œCreedā€ if you will - of the Deep State, and of course the sub-parties such as the DNC that support it.
Thing is, I suspect that this country’s far left don’t support that. Not ever, in fact.
As such, I reckon the Far Left of this country - are ripe for being won over by an awesome event that opens everyone’s eyes, rather than everyone else’s BAR the Far Left, more likely to be the case in say, America…

imo it is a Devil’s Play to put as many people off each of their denominations they might have been brought up in, by (for example) getting Catholics to reject God, because they ā€œlike ā– ā– ā–  too muchā€, or even those who’s lives have been saved my modern medical science to reject God, because of…? That’s a question I’ll hand to you, from what you’ve just said above about JW…

I’ll play both ends here:
I am NOT a JW myself, as I’ve said. I disagree with the idea that they don’t allow medical science to save their lives, if on the line…
BUT these same people might have had the JAB (ffs) so someone got through to them enough to get them to compromise their own core beliefs, - didn’t they?

The ā€œMental Resistanceā€ that Non-Believers bring into play when stating their reasons for being just that - would serve others better by becoming resistance to what STATE tells them to do, rather than the former argument ā€œDon’t believe in all that Church and State tells youā€ - more of a mantra from 1000 years ago, than relevant today.

The Church (Byzantium Christandom back then) was heavily infiltrated by the Deep State of the day back then, notice in particular the lack of ā€œHistoryā€ written down that we have from the period 600AD to 900AD - a time of great evangelism around the world, during perhaps more people becoming ā€œOf Godā€ than of any other group of centuries in history before or since…

Just as the Church was the darling of the early Christians, the NHS has become the Darling of the Far Left, mostly in This country that seems unique in having a ā€œfree at the point of saleā€ version of a socially-owned and run NHS…
If I got ill in say, even Denmark or Germany - I would expect a hefty medical bill soon after…
ā€œDoctors playing Godā€ is hardly a new concept for most people.
ā€œGod playing Doctorā€ though? - A lot of people would be far better off health-wise, if they actually thought a bit more about what medical treatments they were up for, rather than taking them on board ā€œcos someone else told them toā€ā€¦

The way to fix the NHS,Ive been into doctors surgeries and the waiting room was full of foreigners. They havent paid anything into it because theyve only just arrived and havent had a chance to conttibute.Eventually the money will run dry and we will be forced to adopt the American system,€1000 a month

The money won’t ever run dry imo, but the lives of those still paying in - might - before long. :frowning:

Every Conservative-voting Pensioner dead = Less NHS expense covering their ā€œExisting Conditionsā€, Less State pension to be paid out, less people driving Non-Electric vehicles, and of course - less mouths for this nation to feed, that has given priority to Left-leaning citizens of other countries coming over here to get our ā€œFree Stuffā€.

Loving Winseer’s long winded philosophical theories as to why atheists ā€˜don’t believe’.
No need for 6 paragraphs mate, it’s much more simple…

It’s because we are rational non primitive people who do not subscribe to ancient beliefs and behaviour that belong in the dark ages, in times before people knew anything about science.
The same people who looked for answers and theories…made them up as they went along,.and wrote them down.

Just to sum up as I think this thread has ran it’s course…

I still find it fascinating how otherwise rational people in a modern era still subscribe to all this ancient mumbo jumbo without an element of doubt or logic.
I have no real problem with normal people with beliefs and I certainly do not hate them,.half of my own family were in that category ffs, I do however have a dislike and a suspicion for the nut job contingent,.they do far more harm than good to vulnerable and gullible people who are easily led.

Winseer:

So, as far as you are concerned, we rational people, by virtue of rejecting your fairy stories, are all a pack of liars and generally nasty people in our everyday actions?

Yes, that’s exactly what I think (not!) when I see Prof Alice Roberts on TV, or Stephen Fry, or Dr Adam Rutherford or… Well, you get the picture, there are a lot of highly intelligent, generally very pleasant, anti-religion people around, who would find you every bit as risible as the rest of us do.

In truth, we are the ones who understand that behaving decently, as most of us do, does not require a system of ancient fairy tales.

As I’ve said twice in this thread already, you God-botherers are a collection of narcissists, some of you write like you’re a wanna-be Hunter S Thompson on an acid-trip, some of you revel in admissions of being poorly educated, all of you reject the advancements of the rational scientific world which are the only reason you are capable of getting online and spouting your nonsense.

Is it any surprise the rest of us openly mock you?

As for outright disgusting behaviour is fully justified we rationalists aren’t the ones who cover up systematic child abuse to protect guilty paedophiles hiding behind the dog collars and other trappings of their ā€œreligionā€.

Just to sum up as I think this thread has ran it’s course…

That’s because you’re a blaspheming heretic trying to suppress ā€œThe Good Newsā€ and thereby condemn a whole rake of sinners to eternal fiery damnation and torture; you’re on a mission from Satan, clearly

Winseer won’t stop, he’s in Wonderland but unlike Alice he isn’t questioning whether he’s mad, CF seems to be on holiday, probably in one of his parallel dimensions (ie heavily sedated by the care home staff). Sploom seems to me the least insane of the biblical triumvirate, but how many times before now has he promised he was going to stop evangelizing, then within a matter of hours he’s back in the same groove? This thread might potentially end, but the loony-tunes will resurface in another thread like bobbing corks.

Way I see all that is like this…

Firstly why tf would Winseer question the blindingly obvious?

CF is absent because he’s on one if his ā€˜ā€˜I wish I’d been a Euro driver’’ touring hols
He’s stuck on the Brussels ring road with his broken down Allegro, scouring the internet for parts.

As for Sploom…he genuinely can not help himself.
He strikes me as somebody desperately insecure, and he has turned to all this crap for something to hang on to in his life.
Touble is he has been a model victim of his :unamused: …'ā€˜elders’'who have completly turned his head to the point where it dominates his entire life.
The cynic in me asks how much money he has been encouraged to ā€˜ā€˜invest’’ in his church by these people.
He’d have been better off taking up carpet bowls or gardening instead.

An excellent point, those guys are infamous for their telethon donation campaigns, and I’d expect their church to have a ā€œtitheā€, aka a tax on stupidity :unamused:

Poor Geoffrey CF.
