delboytwo:
I am going to get shot for say this but you think 5.73 the class 1 is bad then wait till the Driver CPC comes in next year when 18 year old can take the test and if there do get a job as a class one then there only have to be paid
workers aged 18-21, £4.77 an hour - the ‘development rate’
think your lucky stars your not 18
del
dont think their will be many newcomersto the driving industy with all the rules & regs that keep being brought in + their will be alot of older drivers retiring earlier with the cpc,so in reality wages should then go up hopefully.
For workers aged 18-21, who aren’t normally eligable to hold HGV licences.
You seem to be on some kind of “power kick” here, offering an HGV job at the Minimum Wage when it would only cost you £15 a week more to push wages over the £6 per hour barrier. Even then, that would be poor pay, but keeping it at the minimum wage seems important to you.
Frankly, you aren’t going to survive in business. You will muddle on, going through a succession of useless drivers who have been sacked by everybody else locally until you go bust. You have got “Loser” written all over you.

Blooming hell considering you can see into the future so well and have all the answers how come you are still working
