Im with you Harry.
Im a logistical prostitute myself. The more you pay the better the work you get out of me. I wouldn’t even unlock a wagon for that.
i would throw a brick at it for free though
like harry says hes gonna fail
I may be wrong but anyone who offers minimum wage to potential employees is either unaware or in denial of the general feelings of drivers currently steering wheels. My guess is that the business plan for such a venture was put together on the back of a beer mat egged on by greed and the ‘I can’t see further than next week’ enthusiasm adopted by the desparate.
The fact that the business plan was aired on here first should not be taken lightly. We are given the privalage to converse with and pick the brains of someone who, if they were to apply the same principles to the ■■■ industry’ would pimp brasses on a ‘bed now, pay later’ scheme or simply stick pages of ‘Hello’ magazine to his girls faces and advertize them as the real thing.
And the main thing is that if the wages are so low, you can always sell a bit of diesel or part of the load, especially as it is fridge work.
I didn’t think this would carry on for 8 pages!!!
Well all I can say is that we should leave Gumbo in peace and let him update us accordingly as to his progress
Never know it could be the first success story of 2009■■?
This numpty is like the bloke that was selling fuel for ridiculous prices during the fuel crisis all very smug at the time when people had no choice. Where is he now though!! He went bust because as soon as the blockades were over no one went in there.
This is exactly the same, this scum is preying on peoples desperation to feed their families but mark my words when this current crisis is over you won’t have anybody wanting to work for you.
Why don’t you tell us the name of your outfit so we can avoid you in the future.
I have stood in lumps of ■■■■ with higher morals than you.
Running fridges for £5.73 i would hope for that wage drivers would dumb down, accidentally fill the diesel tank full of red by mistake
Very mature…its not his fault you are all worried about your futures…

Seconded. Leave the man alone. It’s his business to pay a low wage and if no-one wants it he’ll either pack up or raise it.
If you don’t want the job fair enough but personal attacks of this kind leave an unsavoury taste - quite apart from it being aginst forum rules, but it goes to show how standards have fallen here when two of the moderators (the most recent recruits) join in the feeding frenzy.

For workers aged 18-21, who aren’t normally eligable to hold HGV licences. You seem to be on some kind of “power kick” here, offering an HGV job at the Minimum Wage when it would only cost you £15 a week more to push wages over the £6 per hour barrier. Even then, that would be poor pay, but keeping it at the minimum wage seems important to you.
Frankly, you aren’t going to survive in business. You will muddle on, going through a succession of useless drivers who have been sacked by everybody else locally until you go bust. You have got “Loser” written all over you.
From what i have seen so far i will take my chances with the monkeys
Blooming hell considering you can see into the future so well and have all the answers how come you are still working

you don’t need a crystal ball to work out the bit in red in the quote

This is like a baddy from a super hero film talking i bet he sits there stroking his scabby cat.
We may be working for scumbag employers like that in the future but theres no need to put a smile on it.

I’d hardly call asking two questions joining in a feeding frenzy? Personally i think he’s a complete balmpot, but there aint nothing in the forum rules to prevent them from posting either. You obviously really believe he has a job to offer?Maybe, just maybe he has decided not to relocate to Canada, not to use the ADR qualifications he has just gained, and given up with all them jobs he was applying for and decided to run fridges and take someone on on what he has previously termed ‘crap money’. Personal attacks do leave an unsavoury taste its true. But then again, some posts/questions are just going to get some stick. It was a neat trick he did thanking everyone who applied for it
