Reward forStolen lorry

You might want to amend your thread title “stolen lorry” or similar in order for it to receive more attention. Also some pics of the vehicle in question would help greatly.

I did find this old thread about the person/company which contains a number you may like to try if you haven’t done so already.

Thank you Rob K, the number you refer to is a different Tony Garland but I appreciate your time. I have changed the heading and posted an image as you suggested. I think you must agree she’s a very pretty lorry!

Have you reported it to the Police? I imagine they would find him/it for you.

I have tried to but intent has to be proved so I can’t do so until Monday but in the meantime someone may spot it out there.

I can tell from that comment that you’ve not have many dealings with the UK police in your lifetime Harry…

On Wednesday 13th July 2011 a firm called Northern Connections picked up my 1956 Albion lorry just outside Bodmin, Cornwall to deliver to me at Cambridge. Since then my lorry has vanished into thin air and despite repeated e-mails and phone calls I am met with a resounding silence.
The director of Northern Connections, a Mr Tony Garland, personally collected the vehicle to load it onto one of his lorries but I suspect he drove it himself some considerable distance and has most likely damaged the engine and/or the gearbox in his ignorance of the limitations of such an old vehicle.
If any of you truckers out there saw a chassis/cab four wheeler on the A30, A38 or M5 on the 13th, 14th or knows of the whereabouts of my Albion could they give me a bell on 07884462140 or e-mail me at mike@transportartist.co.uk as I want my pride and joy back!
The lorry has a green cab, red chassis and wheels is about 20ft long and is very distinctive, please can anyone help?

If your information leads me to recovering my Albion I am offering a reward, not money I’m afraid because I don’t have much of that but an original painting of your favourite truck is all I can offer.

You have obviously no appreciation of the finer things in life for which I pity you, if you have no information please refrain from wasting my time by making moronic comments about things you know nothing about my friend.

Hello Mike, sorry to hear your news…this wont be much help but I spent a couple of hours in the afternoons of the 13th and 14th photographing trucks on the M5 near Bristol and nothing like your lorry went by…I’m sure I would have noticed it running on its own or on a low loader.Fingers crossed that you get her back.

And you want locking up for that pathetic comment. And people wonder why drivers have bad reputations it’s no ■■■■■■■ surprise with attitudes like yours! I can only hope you have nothing stolen from you that’s your pride and joy and you to feel what it’s ■■■■■■■ like to lose something that means something too you! :imp: :imp:

I hope you get your truck back Mike I’ll keep a look out and I’ll spread the word around the drivers I know. Be sure to let us know when you get it back!!

Cheers

Ady, you appear to be a little confused. This is not a working truck, and the fact that is the year 2011 is irrelevant. This is a preserved vehicle. Many such vehicles exist and are shown at fairs and rallies where they are enjoyed by members of the public. Here, for example are some similar preserved vehicles at the Preston Steam Fair taken earlier this year.

Hope this has clarified the situation for you.

Hi Mike

Sorry to hear about your truck…
I’ll pass your photo onto my boss at work, he’s very into restoring old trucks and has about 10 of his own. He knows alot of people in that field.
Do you have any more pictures, or any info on distinguishing features etc that may help identify it.

Best of Luck.
Kate

What a strange situation. Is this company advertised in a magazine or something? Do they purport to be vehicle movement specialists or truck thieves?

If they are not answering the phone I would suggest a visit with a couple of persuasive lads from up North,

I found the company on Shipley and looked them up on Companies House and they claimed to have 8 wagons including a low loader so I went ahead after I spoke to Garland.

As stated earlier the police have to prove intent so I have to wait until Monday to formally report it stolen. Thanks for the link, wish I’d found that earlier!
