‘Ya’ means ‘your’ :unamused:

Don’t you mean you’re :unamused:

TTX boy:
I Think they are on circa £7.50 ph,which isn’t a fortune !

would you like to state ttx pay and conditions …i.e hourly rate etc  or will you stay silent on that matter :unamused:

TTX are advertising regular on the Universal job site for Class 1 drivers, but they never put on the pay and hours. As I live down the road from them, I was thinking about applying, but I hear the pay is less than £8.00 ph. Also heard they are very strict on infringements.

Also advertising in the M.E.N nearly every week are A K Worthingtons, still paying less than £8.00 ph. Agency asked me would i go in there yesterday. Gave them a firm no.

TTX are on £7.45 ph then time and a quarter after 55 hrs.

And just for the record,i don’t work at ttx.

:open_mouth: jeeeze thats an awful wage :open_mouth:

i have to say ttx is right i have 2 friends that have both worked for kelvin in the workshop both said kelvin was a good bloke however when i made enquries on a driving job the wages came back at 7 pound odd and hr which is why i never bothered
clearly they have had a wage rise wich is great
as for ttx wages they are poor hence why i wont work for them and i live 5 mins away

Curious to know why you call yourself “ttxboy” then.

Well , 3 weeks later and i have to say …lads are well good, funny.full of banter but all keen to lend a hand with either , directions, tips,or just washing off. work days are higgle de piggiledy but suit customers every day change of requirements.
In general and a closer look
Kelvin (the boss or so he thinks)…good honest bloke, requires a decent days work but knows when ■■■■ hits fan etc.
never mythers you, gives your days work an leaves you alone. expects your competent enough to do it om your own.
He will listen and try to accommodate your needs/requests .
Sheldon…bosses bruv…good mechanic ,know the script but also knows from a drivers point of view…no problem there, easy to get on with. approachable
The Drivers…good bunch of guys, helpful, friendly and keen. they seem to enjoy the job and are happy bunch (most retards are like that…(joke). )
my summary
Worked over 40 years in the job , got teeshirt etc. done most stuff including steering wheel attendant etc, nice to get back to firm where we all muck in and we know each others name.
I am enjoying it so far.

Well after a few months here’s update.
Job is actually very good, loads of constant work with a wide variety of stuff. All us guys get on very well together (Christmas party proved it)
We all work great together with no (yes really no) bickering/smart asses etc.
new drivers have come (some gone, not upto requirements etc) .
Wages match work very well, trucks in good nick although we give shelly lots to keep him busy mending them (general defects not damage by drivers).
Christmas party was excellent and tab collected by Kelvin (was rather large but we all like a drink or 3)
Just had a well smart Christmas bonus.
All in all extremely happy with the move to here and will def see out my remaining years working here.

B…

Nice to hear some positives about some jobs.
I see a few kelvin lords around leeds now and then in holbeck, don’t know where they deliver to though.

got a few customer del around there and nearby as well.

well i retired a few months back and can say my original statements were true to the day i retired, we did argue/debate and we had a few rows etc i had a few bumps , but all in all i am glad i finished my working life there. you will always get ups an downs with the boss, same with the garage but that’s part of the job.
Had a nice leaving pressie of him which was appreciated ,still keep in touch now an then.
Banter/help with the lads was excellent and still chat to a few but very much missed.
There are few better firms out there in today’s climate where you can have that banter but still chat privately with the boss.
Happy days now, enjoying the retirement immensely, very busy with other stuff, mainly socialising , trips out holibobs etc but def not missing the work thing.
