Santa:
The RR and the Buick have an estimate of £20 to £30 thousand each and the Facel Vega expects to get £50 to £70k. Even if they get the top estimate, it won’t do a lot to pay off those debts.
With that sort of debt, I doubt they’ll be looking to pay any of it off, more like get cash for what they can before the admin gets going.
Looks like they had a plan with the sales going through just before going into admin.
Separately
Yep, they used to rip off a DHL subsidiary every year that I had dealings with, it was the same promise every year…new kit blah blah blah…and then the crap started to turn up, as they knew this particular contract would rectify most of the problems, AND not book down the dints, bumps, and missing panels as they arrived…which they were billed for when they went back
Poor / weak management taken for a ride, every year
Anyone that signs for a hire vehicle and doesn’t check it over and mark down all the damage is an idiot and needs a good slap.
It’s down to the hirer/renter to point damage out.

Apparently they are saved ,we have been paid what we are owed anyway
That’ll not please our lot, we have 20 odd 64 plate Actros’s sat in the yard that we need to return to Gullivers once the damage bill has been haggled over and settled. They’ve managed to negotiate it down to £96k at the moment.

Every driver seat needs replacing where they rub on the bunk (our lot argue that this is a design fault) they are over £2k a pop, assorted grazes, grooves and bumps soon add up. Mine is one of only a handful without damage to the rear of the cab caused by missed pins. There is also a whole raft of third party damage that our lot never pursued despite having third party details/dashcam footage etc. Bet they’ll not let that happen again with the new ones.
I’ve had a couple of their motors over the years, some of them were nice but we had a merc that used to break down 2/3 times a week and my boss didn’t have the boloocks to throw it back at them and ask for another one.
Bibby are a large group with interests in credit factoring and haulage,I wonder what plans they might have for Gullivers but they seem to specialise in firms with no money.
