Ghost Jobs

Just a heads up for all the Bristol/Welsh drivers,

There is a new agency called " Heads Recruitment " offering fantastic hourly rates for HGV 1 ADR Drivers on curtainsider work in and around Yate/Bristol £16.00 per hr Mon-Fri and £19.00 per hr Sat-Sun & Bank hol’s with £28 per night out, that’s for Ltd driver and Paye drivers £1.00 less.

This job was advertised as long term work from last week and Xmas onwards with immediate start and no driving assessment and no induction ? (working on ADR yeah right)

I signed on with the said agency and I felt a little uneasy with them every question I asked them was yes no problem and kept on thanking me for turning up for the interview 5/6 times and they couldn’t believe I was there in front of them, saying they couldn’t get any class 1 Drivers to turn up and then saying it must be because of the " FOOTBALL "

So I told them that I would go around to see the client which they said they would ring ahead to let him know after I signed on with them to ask him what he was expecting from me as it will be all ADR work and show him all my licenses.

Then to my shock but not surprise there was no job or full time work and they only wanted a driver for a week as a driver had a weeks holiday and he was back this coming Monday 18th June and the transport supervisor then told me they jump the gun again.

So I’m glad I did go to see the client before I left my previous job which I’m still in now.

So beware of the " GHOST " jobs which they are still advertising on Indeed so I’m telling now not to waste your time.

I have confronted them over these jobs on the phone and via email but no reply. And I’m still waiting ? And after reading all there review’s which I wish I read first it’s not a good agency to work for. You have been warned.

Happy Days or not.

Yep …. Never trust any agency, all they want is to exploit the driver, they don’t give a toss about anyone but their own bank balances. When I started with Tesco many years ago I got very bored and saw an adverstisment for drivers to work full time with a company called ‘Dragonfly comunications’, the pay and benefits were amazing, it was well thought that driving for own account companies was the best way to go, even though Tesco had the best pay etc I called and went for an interview which went very well, this was the mid 90’s when the cell phone industry was taking off big time, the job involved me driving a Volvo FH12 with a flat bed trailer and a fitted HIAB, everything sounded too good to be true …… And it was ! I waited at home, still employed by Tesco obviously for over 2 weeks to see if the job was mine, one evening the phone rang and I answered it, “Hello, is that Pat ?” asked the person calling.
“Yes it is”
“This is Dragonfly communications, you applied for a position with us recently”
“Yes I did, I had almost given up on you” I replied.
“Well the job is yours if you want it”
“Thanks you, so when do you want me to start ?”
“Toninght, can you be at Budgens in Wellingborough at 10PM ?”
“What for ?”
“To do a night trunk for them”
“F*** you, you are just a scamming group, are you telling me you are working as an agency ?”
“Not really, we told you that when work was slow we may send you to do work other than ours”
I just laughed and hung up, so happy that I didn’t get fooled by them, there are many tricksters out there.
I learned my lesson before I made a huge mistake. NEVER work for any agency.
