Can anyone tell me about health care in Spain. When my wife’s parents retired about 10 years ago they sold up and moved over there, now they want to come back because they think they will get better care here they have been told that if you go into hospital they only get medical care not food or any other help which would make it hard when only one of them drives. They have no private health insurance so would have to use the Spanish health service, there must be loads of old folk the same due to the amount who have moved over the years.
Quite a few scuttle back to the UK when they get to needing medical help or just the onset of old age, its a bit cheeky though, not pay any UK taxes, have 20/30/40 years in the sun spending it all in Euros out there and then come back for the NHS…
and get (sometimes) their UK pension and heating allowance paid to them while not living here
