TBF I won’t really blame the guys at the warehouse as they’re just “following instructions” from their manager who in turn is obliged to follow “company procedures” from “above” but man, seriously - ■■■■ corporations
Might be to do with some div who fell off a taillift at one of their sites?

Had a lot of problems with K&N, from using equipment, raising ramps and opening bay doors, all down to H&S ■■■■■■■■, if you’re not company trained then you can’t use it.

To be fair at least ask them how will we move the pallets which you want loaded/unloaded,first.Awaits reply you’ll have to bring your own you can’t use ours.
When I used drive drop sider delivering building supplies.
Get to some sites offload.pallets then used be sacks of parts which were burried I’m the middle of truck bed.
Lot.of.building sites complain when I get on the back.to reach them.
The amount of times I was told can’t climb on .back of truck h n s fair enough.
But there next response is.go out the gate theres a laybe up the road you can do it there. Then come back
To which my response is always no if I fall off I’m alone no help or 1st aider around.
So I’ll get to my next drop then if I can access my truck there I’ll then come back here and 99%of the time it’s errr ok climb on the back but just this once
“You must not assist in the unloading of your vehicle. Only trained staff will unload your vehicle upon handing in your keys, and securing your vehicle, and a confirmation sent to the warehouse floor that the driver is secure in the holding area” (the Cooler I presume?)
Is there then any wonder that it takes 3-4hours to tip 4 pallets at such places?
What happens at those warehouses that are expected to unload dangerous substances I wonder? Are they really ALL qualified to do that, these warehouse temps?
Are any of them insured for tripping up on back of trailer, and hurting themselves - but it is their fault, because they were insured to use pump truck as per OP - and you, the driver - aint?
…Then there’s docking on a bay to get a quick tip when the six O’clock whistle comes… The fresh shift coming in - don’t seem to know of your existance, slowly decomposing on bay wun near the skips…
The way to treat all RDC is the same,
Roll-up. Back onto alotted bay, make a thermal cup of tea/coffee, get your device with lots of films on, headphones, and food, go and sit wherever you can, then just watch your film, drink tea and get paid, Or listen to the daring escapades of the ex-regiment types. Waste of time getting snotty like some do, moaning that they’ll be late at next drop, What doesn’t get done today gets done tomorrow or taken back.

I do, it’s the ones following orders that are the problem! They need to question stupid procedures, the next thing is you will have unqualified people who can’t drive telling you how to secure your load on your lorry!

I don’t have that problem anymore, as it’s part of the contract for the customer to unload the goods, but my response would be “not a problem, can you sign my paperwork refused, and I’ll be on my way!”
Not a chance I’ll be waiting for someone to change the rules just so they can get their stuff. zb’em

I’ve been for a roller brake test today at the usual place ,but this time there’s a new policy which is I have to sit in the passenger seat and the brake test man drives the lorry ,I never seen my lorry do a wheelie before
so unless the firm want to buy me a new clutch and may be gearbox as the man couldnt get reverse the next time I’ll go elsewhere.
Reminds me of the time the tachograph man tried to move my Erf
Have people been living in a box the last few years sorry for the pun some have
All the real hard men with words that they would never ever repeat, if it happened to them in real life, it would be like sorry sir is it ok if I handball it off
It’s part and parcel of everything and anything that anyone does now in every aspect of life
There are some things you tell them to ■■■■ themselves and there are some things you just can’t but when you have the majority of people in this game asking how high do you want me to jump for the smallest amount of money there is no hope
Why were you wanting to use their pump truck? What needed moving that they couldn’t do?
Danl time for an I shift no need to worry then
Funny system…all companies should use the same procedure and that should be…drivers do not unload…i remember the first time i delivered to Lidl…got given a bay number, so found the bay, backed on, got my newspaper out…after half an hour a driver from the next bay knocks on my door…gotta unload yourself here mate he said…so i duly went into the warehouse…they offered me an electric truck to unload…i told them i hadnt been trained…ok wait there …5 minutes later he turns up with a hand pump…here ya go mate…no not me i said…i dont unload…if i did , i would work in a warehouse…so he said…ok take it away…got my notes, and walked out…then the boss phoned…whats up…they want me to unload myself…well do it then…no i said, i dont get paid enough to unload as well, i am a driver…thats what your ad said when you were looking…driver wanted
…so he offered me £30 to do it…i said…just this once…but he failed to pay me at the end of the week…so i told him to stick his job.

Was at crappy ALDI today - wish they’d turn round and say it there! Detest with a vengeance their self tip crap now they insist all pallets with similar goods are kept together!
Had enough today took them off as they were lowed and put them into poxy lane just for them to whinge that they had to go and search for each set of goods
Been quite happy if they said not insured !!
Set up for turning up, open doors/curtains then say all yours!!
You not helping drive?
Nope not insured [emoji38][emoji38]
