NewLad:
I go driving occasionally for my current employer and have been taking my 45 in a lay by on my route to my next delivery. My question is would you find it reasonable to go 10-12 miles out your way, (off route) to go to a service station? I only ask because I would rather be able to go and use a toilet and wash my hands before eating my lunch rather than have to hold it in for another 6hrs and using those antibacterial gels don’t “clean” your hands.
Please none of this just pee up the back wheel stuff.
My opinion is you’re a troll.
Can you really not have a ■■■■ without getting your hands wet?
No, it’s not reasonable to go 10-12 miles off route - unless you want to pay for the diesel and clock off whilst you do it.
What makes you think the reason I want to wash my hands is because I ■■■■ on them■■?
Maybe it’s because I used to be a chef and thats why I like clean hands when I eat or maybe it’s just because I’m not a tramp.
Also we dont all have driving jobs where you back onto a bay and someone else does all the hard work for you. If the most difficult part of your job is opening the doors/curtains you’re lucky but then again I’m proberbly on a better hourly rate than you!
I asked a question I got an answer I don’t need a jumped up p r i c k like you trying to be funny.
I’d be surprised if you work harder and get your hands dirtier than cieranc… I could be wrong, but i doubt it.

I didn’t say I worked harder or got dirtier his post said that I would only need to wash my hands because I had ■■■■■■ on them, I was mearly trying to point out that I’m not a back on the bay boy.
its a case of carry a bottle of water, a bog roll & tescos carrier bag around with you, then if you get caught short its a case of get in the back and drop and squat. its much cheaper than 14 miles out your way.

Clearly looks like your insinuating something there.

I’d say that 14 miles was pushing it a bit even for overnight parking at a decent truckstop.
I used to try and stick to within 10 mins off main route for night stops.
I’m not a driver, my partner is and I went out for a couple of nights away with him.
Being a girl, it’s not that easy peeing into a bottle, but I managed it. We slept in industrial estates for the two nights, and I managed ok with baby wipes and such like to keep clean, we also used the toilets at the places we were dropping at. There is no way I would have asked him to go off route to find me somewhere to wash my hands, we did stop at a services for a meal the end of the 2nd day, but it had been a bad day and I thought it was a good idea to have something more than a Pot Noodle inside us, but it wasn’t out of the way, it was one that we were passing and he was due his 45 minutes at that point.
It’s all part of the job, you put up and make do, be it bottles of water and kitchen roll, packets of baby wipes, whatever.

The thing is mate, what they’re getting at, just because you’re finished tipping, doesn’t mean jump in your wagon and go.
Get your notes signed, have a ■■■■, then climb back in your wagon.
There will also be MULTIPLE services on route, you don’t have to wait until your 4.5hrs is up to stop for a ■■■■ or to wash your hands, you can nip in, quick ■■■■■, wash of hands, maybe get 15 mins in if your schedule is really tight, then carry on.
Don’t take it personally, it’s a bit of fun and your getting yer leg pulled. Just be glad you plonkers not being yanked or you might not make it to far of route.
mickyblue:
Today i took a 30 mile detour so i could have a wee in a field.
More or less miles for Tom Titt?
Drive a tipper Newlad; Climb up into the back, crap on the muck and use a waste transfer ticket.
Please ignore advice if you’re not doing muckshifting as Mr X won’t like to see a brown trout perched on top of his shingle.
Also ignore advice if carrying blacktop.
Chuffing hell, I thought I was pushing it a bit when I asked my planner if I could nip home for my tea once, 3 miles from where I was loading. 14 miles for a ■■■■■ is literally taking the ■■■■ a bit too far. I wouldn’t even consider that distance with a full load of single malt and needing to parking up for the night. The key is forward planning, part of which you have done by posing the question on here (so credit to him where it’s due please, the only daft question is the one never asked!!!). I know we all get caught short but I’ve never had a problem with going at a customers, services, or even a McWee, I’ve even had to use a layby (which I detest btw) just don’t do it in front of someone eating their snap, puts me right off.
