If you say that ALL the costs are a quid a mile ( I have no idea of exact figures but that’ll do… )thats, lets say, 12 quid a day

60 quid a week

240 quid a month

etc etc…

That without taking into account the use of driving hours ( could be the difference between a night out or not, perhaps? )

Hmmm…guess what my opinion is? :unamused:

If I’m brutally honest, its a bloody stupid question!

Read my sig below…

I go driving occasionally for my current employer and have been taking my 45 in a lay by on my route to my next delivery. My question is would you find it reasonable to go 10-12 miles out your way, (off route) to go to a service station? I only ask because I would rather be able to go and use a toilet and wash my hands before eating my lunch rather than have to hold it in for another 6hrs and using those antibacterial gels don’t “clean” your hands.

Please none of this just pee up the back wheel stuff.

You do multi drop store deliveries, just ask if you can use there toilet ffs. :unamused:

jessicas dad:
if you have to ask then this isnt the job for you.

its 14 miles there then 14 miles back again :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

forward planning is the key to this.

No it’s 14 miles total. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Baby wipes :sunglasses:

quick, easy, clean and cheap…but that’s enough said about me

Also in reply to all the people bashing me, I have never done this, I mentioned it to a couple of drivers at work and they say they would go up a junction on a motorway to go to services rather than use a lay-by, I thought it was too far so I decided to ask others what was the norm in the industry. I now know the answer, in the past I have used a lay-by, in future I will use a lay-by unless there is a services en-route.

Thanks for your opinions.

Off course it’s ironic God knows many posts there is on here about “filthy drivers ■■■■■■■ in laybyes/ on wheels” etc
At least this guy is trying to find a decent toilet .
14miles is probably to far for even the most understanding employer on a regular basis , a odd time is ok , keep a old wide necked bottle with you and use toilet at last drop even if you don’t need to !

don’t worry about it fella, it’s always better to have the ■■■■ ripped for a question rather than the ■■■■ ripped for not asking the question

Step one, acquire hgv licence.
Step two, learn how to ■■■■ without getting it all over you hands!

do you do the same run all the time ? where are you heading to and from ? tell us this and someone on here may be able to point you in the direction of a toilet

I’ll be coming from Warwickshire heading towards Nottingham and no its not a regular run for me

I think in your case it may be a idea to have a ■■■ before you leave the house. HTH.

and wipe your hands when you finish. Not nice eating ■■■■ on the road

Have you done a search on google on how to have a ■■■■    HTH

My opinion is you’re a troll.

Can you really not have a ■■■■ without getting your hands wet?

No, it’s not reasonable to go 10-12 miles off route - unless you want to pay for the diesel and clock off whilst you do it.

What makes you think the reason I want to wash my hands is because I ■■■■ on them■■?
Maybe it’s because I used to be a chef and thats why I like clean hands when I eat or maybe it’s just because I’m not a tramp.
Also we dont all have driving jobs where you back onto a bay and someone else does all the hard work for you. If the most difficult part of your job is opening the doors/curtains you’re lucky but then again I’m proberbly on a better hourly rate than you!

I asked a question I got an answer I don’t need a jumped up p r i c k like you trying to be funny.
