Yup, same for me, far better than the new bridge, I like the views into Lisbon as well.

Another favorite of mine has to be going past all the old wind turbines between Tarifa and Algeciras looking over at Africa.
Also any crossing of the mountain ranges of Europe, Pyrenees or Alps, they are awesome in places :grimacing:

Not got a favourite but what is that blot on the landscape near the A34 not too far away from Kidlington?

You mean the Shipton on Cherwell cement works. Built in 1927. It produced 320,000 tons of cement every year. it was closed in 1986 by Blue circle. Been waiting for demolition ever since.

or you might mean Didcot power station!

The train coming out of the tunnel made of bricks,i think its up Darlington way.And when i used to get down Kent way the full size Viking ship

Durham cathedral seen from the A1(M).
Get the kettle on, mother

Yep on the A66 just to the east of Darlo.

Thought of another… the old boy and his Mrs who sit in their “Eddie Stobart” VW camper van on the A180 in the laybys flashing at all the trucks going past! Always makes me chuckle but I bet they are happy, each to their own.

The Tamar Bridge, heading out of Cornwall,I know im getting back to civilization  (sorry semtex, but my ex wife is cornish)

Harry Monk:
Stonehenge.

One of the highlights of my fave run, I love the area around Salisbury and on the plains, I must be some sort of closet druid :grimacing:

Humber Bridge is a favorite to, still looks sleek and amazing as it stretches across the estuary :sunglasses:

The Scamorden reservoir M62 coming WB just before the little house, when I see the concrete tower structure poking out of the water

I always chuckle to meself as I mutter those immortal words, ‘‘Ahh meester Bond, vee haf bin expecting you’’ :grimacing:

I know…I spend far to much time on my own

My current favourite is the straw meerkat (not lifesize) in the field beside the A51 North of Nantwich. Almost worth going to see. Like when England won the Ashes in 2005 (there was that sculpture of a set of cricket wickets made of those large cylindrical haybales with the one word “Howzat?” on them beside the A303 near Sparkford I think) I feel it’s somehow uplifting to think someone has gone to all that trouble to amuse or celebrate with such a transitory structure.

I always think Stonehenge must come as a delightful surprise to many the first time they drive by it on the 303 - I imagine people thinking “'ere where have I seen that before?! That’s whats-its-name isn’t it?”. Shame for the people actually visiting it that there is the constant thunder of traffic going virtually right next to it. Also, though I hate just about everything about driving there except hitting the M4 Westbound, I find the view from Tower Bridge and seeing so many wonderful and famous sights to be quite inspiring.

zippy!:
