No thanks, already got enough Health Professionals in the family as it is

Iveco’s are nice… Well… They do the job right?!

None of our units (7.5t’s) have fancy things like electric heated mirrors, electric windows, cruise control, radios…

Basic is the operative word!!!

Still no takers on the ERF front…whats up with them

I’ll have Rob K’s truck please

fitted with shower :smiling_imp:

ERF is off and moving

Favorite unit eight pints of Thwaites,

my current favourite is the ERF ECT that i normally drive but my all time fav has to the the pre-facelifted FH12. i only ever drove one once and i may change my mind since i am so much more experienced now but until i am given one to take out and compare, it remains my favourite tractor unit

Difficult one this. I voted for the Scania, from a driving point of view, but I still think that the Renault Premium is the best cab I have had to ‘live’ in for a week at a time.

At the time, and for a long time afterwards, my F89

All time fave - FH12

But I did like my Magnum.

Salut, David.

Is this a wind up ?

had many a comfy night out in a twingo

I’ve only drove Renaults for the last 11 years except 6mths on an FH globby for which i voted, i used to drive a 362 MAN a while back, and rated it as my top choice of motor for a long time, so i would be intrested to get my hands on a XXL MAN to compare their modern offering to the old.

I’m quite happy with my Premium, but i’m not sure of the above

Nope! This is purely for the 11hrs or 9hrs off each night during the week.
Lots of storage space, lovely bed (didn’t like the top bunk), and with everything made up, you still have easy access to either seat or even out of both doors. Even with the raised floor, there is still plenty of room for 6’2" of me to stand up and get dressed with ease. Nice flat surface for cooking on. And the single bunk layout looks even better.

So what am I comparing it to, you may ask.
Currently, an R Series Topline (good, but not quite good enough)
4 series Topline (Would have been a contender if my truck had the big storage option instead of the slim lockers)
4 series P cab (tramped for 7 weeks until a topline was available - OK, but had to travel light)
XF95SSC (most over-hyped truck on the road - OK for storage and nice bed, but the cab ‘feels’ small inside compared to the topline scanias)
FH12GT (nice bed, very small cab)
MAN TGA-XL (nice bed, poor storage)

Just my opinion.

Im not sure how much gear you lads need to carry, but I had a MAN 402 Roadhaus and spent up to 6 weeks away, I still never managed to fill all the cupboards and nooks and crannies

I can agree with the post about a premium, they are a decent cab for tramping, I can stand on the document box in the centre without banging my head on the roof. I can also sit on the bunk and get very comfy.

I havent had a Daf XF, but i did have a 95 spacecab with no problems.

Lets see how I cope in my new FM eh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Should be worth reading, that’s for sure  . I think that the FM isn’t suitable for tramping at all. It is best suited for “day” work (or “night” work), with the occasional night out, but not for tramping unless the driver is being at least a grand per week  :stuck_out_tongue: .

The 362 i drove was just the standard double bunk cab, pre Roadhaus, but i found that there was ample stowage in that for weekly tramping, plus it was fitted with the twin splitter  so i can see what your saying about the Roadhaus.
I’m not sure that the Privelage cab Premium is actualy an advance on the Turboliner that it replaced, the drive is better, but for living in well the Turboliner might just have the edge. Academic i know with the Turboliner not being in production any more.
Good luck with the FM :open_mouth:
