Doesn’t matter how long it takes you as long as you get it on the bay in the end with no damage.
I wonder which agency he works for.
Very sad that people stood around without helping a guy who was having difficulties.
That had to be one bad day. He was probably a newbie.I remember the very first place I tipped, it wasn’t too bad, 3-4 shunts to get onto the bay, only to discover…I’d forgotten the trailer doors

Sign of the times i’m afraid. people would rather sit and film them or sit with their hand on the horn.
Back when i were a lad…

He had a co-driver who couldn’t be arsed to get out of the cab and help him for the first 9 minutes of the video.
If I saw that situation and saw his mate wasn’t helping him I would assume he wanted to try to do it by himself because otherwise his mate would be out there waving his arms about.
I’m beginning to think people are commenting without actually watching the video.

I put my hand up to that in my post!
Perhaps the next time a poster puts on a 12 min vid, they also post a synopsis

Not to bad for a newbie blind side reverseIt wasn’t blind side, and the bloke had somehow got from Poland to France
As for helping him I wouldn’t have got within 100 foot of him
Not that British ones are perfect - can’t even drive in straight line
I linked jims video through my facebook account and last night received a comment on it from a good old friend who worked at United Carriers with me all those years ago.
He said, “The DHL driver is better at reversing than most of the clowns who come into our place Malc!”
He works at Stobarts in Goole

The finest fighting force in the world, quite possibly, but they make terrible drivers out of them
Now that has got to be my worst nightmare as a new driver I would feel like a right idiot, haven’t had to do it yet but I would like to think that more experienced drivers would lend a hand cause at some point everyone was a rookie with no experience and had to learn!

you can’t educate pork. There are 2 or 3 men watching the army driver and he still got it wrong, there is someone watching the DHL driver but if they cannot follow a simple instruction like left hand down or keep it straight. I have seen drivers trying to put a lorry over a pit forwards and still steer the lorry with massive degrees of angle
Most drivers of my age could reverse before they went out on the road, whether that was learned on a farm, in a field, from a toybox or in a warehouse haulage yard environment.
The DHL driver is tying himself up in knots, just look at the angles he has his unit in relation to the trailer, he is going in a slight arc and has a lot of room. Some drivers just haven’t got it yet, I am not being harsh, but if he hasn’t got a clue how it steers, how the hell did he get it into the yard, unless he isn’t a driver and someone is just saying, here mate have a go!
At some point everyone was a rookie
Yes they were, but out of those rookies, some made bloody good drivers, some went to Greece for the first time and had to reverse into a dark ferry with no mirrors and a foreigner shouting in a language no-one understands. They managed to do it!
OK don’t really know what I did to trigger that response all I was saying is that personally as a new driver who has never had to reverse onto a bay I would hope that someone would offer advice if I were in a tight situation, cause as I’ve read your only taught to pass your test you have to learn to be a good driver! And sometimes ye a good way to learn is to just get thrown in at the deep end but on the other hand having a more expierienced driver who can give you some pointers and offer his experiences I would of thought may be invaluable to a newbie like myself.

You didn’t do anything, but your question did, some people are born to sing, some are destined to be famous actors or poets, some can paint beautiful pictures. They all get the same basic training in primary school, but not all are destined for fame and fortune.
I feel the same way about lorry drivers, for some it will come naturally, for others it will never gel.
