That’s a lot of work and must take up a fair bit of your time. It’s a thankless task so don’t take this as criticism

but, given that most are copied from jobcentre plus surely anyone seeking work has already looked on there,

and also without a region or area in the title it means trawling through all the posts.

I ve actually given up looking in the vacancies section, I can easily find them all myself on jc+ and can find my area easier going thru there

Sorry to hinder you with all that trawling but the temporary omission of the
area was quite intentional - in order to try and better monitor the interest from
fellow members.

Thanks for your appreciation anyway.

In another post you are boasting about being a newbie who has got
work soon after passing your recent test.

Well, Mr Fantastic Newbie - you don’t need JC+ either,
but Thanks for your kind comments.

To be perfectly honest - So did I !!!

It’s actually the driving job I’m doing right now.

I only wanted Part Time (due to family reasons) and that’s what I found.
So I’ve had a bit of spare time to try highlight a few jobs for others.

I get plenty of Euro work and nothing but, which is exactly what I like. And great wages/conditions to boot! And the deal clincher here…Is I have never met the owner. He just pays in my bank what I earn. Suits me down to the ground. :sunglasses:

I have often looked in that forum but look more now

Save me a lot of time trawling through the jc website so have more time looking on other sites for work although not lot around here in the North but dont I am willing to travel if the job is right for me or even relocate as some have found out

Must admit was sceptical at 1st when you started posting all the jobs like you do though you may be an agency

thought you may be an agency

Certainly Not !!!

In fact I’ve got mixed feelings about Agencies and I suppose I consider
them to be “A Necessary Evil”.

Years ago they got me a break with Class One work - I passed my test
in the morning and I drove Class One that same afternoon.
I couldn’t have done that for myself because I didn’t have the contacts.

On the other hand, I blame Agencies for keeping wages static. I’ve got hard
proof that the PAYE Agency rate for a job in November 2002 was £8 ph.
That very same job in November 2012 is that very same pay - £8 ph.
Although - get this - you now have to agree to pay the 1st £250 of any
damage you may cause - deducted at £50 pw. I’ve never seen that before !

I thought that the Management had tightened up on this. Someone used to post dozens of jobs all over the country with no details in the subject headline.

I cant see how it is helpful when there are twenty or thirty adverts for Class One Driver. You may as well just use one post and type them all in there.

OK - I won’t post anymore

Some of us appreciate your effort, keep em coming and thanks

They have - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=176

All Ads must have
The company name
Area in which the driver is required
The Wage paid (By the hour… or weekly)
Type of work
Contact Name and Number/E-Mail

Does not state that it must be in the post title though

Hi Dieseldoforme,

I agree with the other posters who have said that it’s helpful to some members when people take the time and trouble to post vacancies in the Vacancies Forum, but have you read the locked sticky (mentioned and linked by ROG) at the top of that forum?

I’ve noticed that “the temporary omission of the area was quite intentional,” so I’m wondering whether you were going to put the area into each post at a later date?

Apart from the number of page views per post, which is viewable to everybody, what were you seeking to achieve when you said: “… better monitor the interest from fellow members” please?

I am more than happy with my job. But do like to look on jc+ incase there is something for a fellow newbie that I can point out and post like you. (although not really seen owt do to not really looking) , but when all you post is “class1 vacancy” it could be anywhere in the country and no use to anybody without wasting loads of time having to look at each individual post, making it very tedious very quickly and when I come on to trucknet I see the jobs forum is lit up to show new posts. So I have a quick look and find stuff youve posted with a distinct lack of info.

Fine

Who died and left Wheelnut in charge? Post whatever you like. You don’t need his say so. :unamused:

I was just pointing out about the Class one driver vacancy without a location. It doesn’t affect van drivers :stuck_out_tongue:

when I log on. I click “Read new posts” and I get a long list with the same heading. I am sure others use Trucknet the same as me, or they get an inbox full of messages.

As I pointed out, the admin had already decided to monitor this, mine was just a friendly reminder. I could have used the report abuse button, but that is like snitching on a mate out of class.

How would you like it if your delivery notes just had the customers name and street name with no town or or country?
