Yellow hi viz vests

Goldfinger:
Visitors wear blue at our place.

We had this argument at our place, we’re surrounded by a sea of yellow containers welfare cabins etc, but we are not allowed to wear the orange vests to stand out against the yellow! :imp:

That’s the whole point of hi-vis vests innit!!■■

No, not at all. The whole point of them, along with a multitude of other H&S ■■■■■■■■, is to give ginger, and/or fat, and/or small, kids who were bullied at school a chance for revenge. That’s all.

ive got a black hi-viz in the shed, had a pink one but gave it away  think i may have a blue one and a red one as well.

Ooooh! They will go soooooo nice with my wedge heeled safety thigh boots, flared leather hi viz over trousers/chapps (with arse cut out), leopard print ear muffs, and tinted pink wrap around safety glasses. :sunglasses:

That sounds a very cool fashion statement :sunglasses: just looking on ebay for said items

You can even get a matching pink tool kit from poundland, hammer, screwdrivers, stanley knife ect, to complete the new ‘Pink’ hi vis fashion satement :unamused:

I see a lot of shunters wearing Orange to be different to everyone else. Is this because they are self proclaimed gods of the yard and better than any driver ever to enter said yard?

Nothing new for Christmas then ?

Wheel Nut:
It seems quite strange that the new idea of hi-viz clothing is a shade of pink. The idea being to stand out and be seen.

Even stranger when you realise that we did the exact opposite in the desert when I was in the SAS :stuck_out_tongue:

The Pink Panther was almost invisible against sand

Only once it had been faded by the sun. It stood out a bit when freshly painted.

Can’t see it myself.

according to one of the minnions in muppet hq last night, the yellow ones are to be emergency services only! stobarts are involved with a government trial run. what a load of pish. does that mean all cyclists, runners, horse riders, school kids, workmen etc are going to have to scrap all their yellow hi viz? I’m not going running in florescent pink lycra!

There are penalties for not wearing the silly things, so just put on at start of duty and thats it.The railway workers have been wearing pink for years, though I think is a bit girly.

never seen railworkers in Pink, (stand to be corrected), they always wear flourescent orange, one of us must be colour blind
p.s. why when I “quote” a poster it doesn’t come out the same as everyone else’s

sent g.f out today to get some red dye, going to dye one of the yellow ones and see what it looks like[if its possible to dye a high viz, matl],i know she tried to dye my blue innovate trousers black but didnt touch them, she tried to dye my orange/blue innovate fred perrys black and they ended up brown :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :unamused: [she might be good in bedroom/kitchen] but not good at dying things
