Went back to work yesterday, most of the drivers were sent home, including me, but at least I’m salaried not like the xpo drivers.
Sent home again today, no trucks available, if some idiot hadn’t reversed mine under a bridge which was too low I’d of had that!!!

Im sure they have to give you some sort of training on how to climb on and off the trailers.
You can just lay on the floor and get a mate to take a picture and say you fell off. Bet it will make them sweat. Oh and report it in the accident book

My first day back after hols, to see yard full of drivers standing about and cleaning trailers etc.
I was lucky my load is a regular weekly one, so off I went to collect it
I ■■■■ hate standing around in yard, I knew things were quiet,.I knew my load was not ready to afternoon,.so asked for a dinnertime start.

As I’m agency I’m not sure they’d care , I’ll have to look into it though
I love standing around in the yard. Every now and then for inexplicable reasons the Coldstore goes breasts north and we have up to twenty drivers waiting for trailers to be loaded. I travel from coffee machine to coffee machine, smoking shelter to smoking shelter, up to the garage to have a laugh with the fitters and I also pretend I’m a twenty something and flirt with the plethora of stunning EE girls that work there.
Beats fighting trumpets in Beemers and Audis any day, and I get paid just the same. What’s not to like?

A site I was at the XPO drivers were on guaranteed hours for the week. End result driver does overtime shift 14 hours one day and has all the overtime cancelled out by getting sent home early the next day.
