Yard Break In

Our yard was broken into late Monday night. 8000 litres of diesel nicked from the bulk tank, one of the lorries had it’s batteries stolen (the digi tach stopped at 10:15 so at least the time is recorded) and a couple had their light bars stolen. One parked by mine had it’s beacons nicked.
Is it racist to say the travelling tarmac layers are high on the list of subjects?
Either that or the beacons will be for sale at a steam rally somewhere.

Where abouts is your yard ?

a guy I know runs his own digger driver company, he is based near enough at the end of long track right out in the sticks on York moors… he had a few bits (new type led beacons) ect taken from his machines at his house… turned out some scrotes from middlesbrough were responsible… not ■■■■■■ either, but they must have gone way out there way to do the crime…

How exactly does someone nick 8000 litres of derv? I’ve never seen any travellers with their own tanker ffs, think someone is exaggerating. Could be wrong obviously but 8000 litres?
Thieving scum, I blame the Romanians.

Nope there’s be my first port of call. We’ve been done twice and there’s a camp up the road. First was 6ish years ago. We had one of our manf2000 taken out of a farm were we used to be,not before any metal lying around was loaded onto it before they went. We found the lorry 2 days later hid in an industrial estate. Apparently there stolen and hid somewhere to see if they’re tracked or not then they come back for them. He other was from our new yard about 4 years ago they broke in sat night nicked a lorry and machine and emptied the diesel out. We took it In turns to go up at night and keep watch because we knew they a be back I left on the the at about 11 get a phone call at 1 my boss pulled in to find our wall knocked down and to blokes on our machines putting them on two lorrys that they had nicked and bought to our yard. My boss gave chase they got into a car that was hid around the corner and guessed where he chased them to, yep the gypsy camp. The police were called they. Came as far as the travellers gates and that was it. The machines where taken away for prints and came back with a match from you guessed it a traveller, did he get nicked nope because we couldn’t prove we had never hired it to them absolute joke the old bill don’t want to get involved with them.
They know this so do what the ■■■■ they like.

Our yard’s near Oxford. To be fair not only did local police come out but SOCA came out late yesterday too. The diesel fairies used an old bridleway, which has been blocked now by two old trailers. I bet some rambler objects but ■■■■ 'em.

Where I used to work we had 14000 litres nicked in one night. 10 wagons drained plus the yard diesel tank drained. It conveniently happened on the one night the ind est were changing security company and all the cctv on the estate had been switched off.

Matt

One of the local quarry companies had a brand new pump nicked over the weekend too. Perhaps to get our diesel away?
I think we need to send someone to Blandford Rally and buy our stuff back.

Scania dealer at Nottingham was broken into over xmas, they stole 35 wheels and tyres, all off new trucks. They jacked them all up removed the wheels and dropped the trucks on concrete blocks, they were obviously in there a long time due to the work involved.
Nottingham police traffic division is on the same industrial estate.

Had our yard broken into diesel nicked smashed all the lorries windows sat navs nicked company phones gone too… The haulage industry is tight enough as it is without idiots stealing, absolute scum!!

I have always had a theory (I know it wouldn’t stop it completely) but if people didn’t buy stolen people wouldn’t nick it.

We have an electronic lock on our diesel tank, I guess if they couldn’t get in they’d drill it, we have cctv along with a perimeter monitor, so if anyone comes within 1 metre a computer lady asks them to leave if they don’t it activates an alarm on my phone to which I can see the cctv, I can dial in and speak to them over a speaker or just ring the rozers or just happen to pop down to shoot some rabbits.

Shouldn’t laugh, I don’t know why I find this funny, just the brazen audacity of it I suppose, just got the theme to the great escape playing in my minds eye with a few geezers frantically pumping the torque gun…

What’s that then 30 grand for a night or two’s work?

Feasible, durabrite with a premium brand tyre.

The sad thing is it’ll probably be some greedy small haulier that won’t be able to resist those tyres, cheap for cash, out the back of a van that rocks up in their yard one day. Chances are though the same van will probably pop back later and have anything they spotted, and took a fancy to, away.

When I worked in a local quarry the pit staff all said cash sales should stop because most of these were to the you know who, ripping off local people, fiddling VAT and casing the quarry for stuff to pinch. After a large increase in “Ultimate Driveways” type customers, the quarry had a lot of electric cabling nicked, over 10000l of diesel and the weighbridge office ransacked. Yet they still serve these “businesses”.

We wont have caravan dwellers in the yard at all if they come in to tip rubbish or buy materisls there turned straight round.

When I worked for Biffa, we had our diesel nicked on a Saturday might (around 22.00)

They used a battery angle grinder to ‘Unlock’ the gate & a 7.5 curtain sider + Transit, probably loaded with empty IBC’s or 45 gal drums.
Cheeky Sods even shut the gate behind them & came back on Sunday night to totally empty the tank, estimated that they got away with about 20,000 ltrs !!!

Gits didn’t even close the gate after the second visit I turned up at 04.45 on the Monday to open up & the gates were flapping in the wind. Inconsiderate Sods !

That’s the way it should be. No sales means they can’t have a nosy around claiming they’re “looking for da toype wun” and it’d stop all these scam driveway types.
If they scream “dats waysis” then just cite the MPQC “no card, no load” rule, or tell them it’s account only.
