Looks good on paper…As it’s non Hazardous too…So looks to be a good wage I’d say…

Wagons are bent as ■■■■. My regular motor does a healthy 56 and they come past me on the A1 with Norbert deckers on doing 59 or 60, on the flat. :open_mouth:

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true…

How it should be then:grin:

It sounds about right, XPO pay a decent wage on normal work so it’s close to what I’d expect them to pay for the specialist stuff.

Ask the B&Q drivers how they compare. They went over on TUPE on 1st August so they should have settled in by now.
They have just nicked another of their contracts. Supposedly acorn recruitment is advertising for full time immediate starts in Enfield, Warrington, Livingston etc. I dont see why they think they can find drivers that were not applying a month ago

I work for XPO. Afaik local wage agreements mean that wages vary from depot to depot depending on things like Union strength and also prior agreements of the Co that was taken over by XPO. For example my wage structure and benefits are derived from the old Salveson agreements with some eye wateringly good T’s & C’s such as sick pay and sixth day working pay. If I told you what I get for working a bank holiday I’d get called a liar.

Overall they are a logistics supplier and NOT a traditional haulier so you have to expect all that entails such as compliance managers and box ticking excercises. Overall though if you keep your head down, don’t rack up infringements and do your job properly you’ll be left well alone.

Are they anything to do with Nobbies? HJ use Nobbies for French deliveries and they started to come in with XPO liveried wagons on French plates pulling Nobbie logo’d trailers.

Yeah they bought nobbies out pal.
But think few of the yards still have nobbie livery under XPO command I believe.

Thanks, explains a lot.

They are still running TDG trailers up here. When did nobbies buy them?

They (XPO) seem to be swapping units first. B&Q trailers are being pulled by new units but still have the occasional yellow FH with DHL removed. No hurry for trailers judging by the former NDL and TDG trailers running out of eurocentral

In 2007, Norbert Dentressangle doubled its size and significantly strengthened its position in Europe with the acquisition of Christian Salvesen, and in March 2011 it bought the British company TDG. The company reported proforma revenues of €3.8 billion for 2012.
Is the odd salvesen decker still knocking about? Seems quite easy to rub out ND & put XPO on red units.

B&Q are in the process of renewing many of their units - the old ‘dual-fuel’ FMs are going at the end of the month and there will be a load more hired ones running around until the new (non-gas) ones arrive in the spring.

As has been said, XPO run loads of different contracts so all rates are different and nothing has yet changed since the days of DHL. There have been a lot of changes in the office, but as far as drivers are concerned there’s simply a different set of paperwork to fill out - as long as you put the ticks in the correct boxes then they are happy. I would say that they are less ■■■■ than DHL were - they tend to leave you to get on with the job.

I dont expect much difference with drivers here. If they couldn’t flood the place with them before then they wont flood the place in 6 months when XPO take over officially.

Management, now that is a different story and a welcome one. I reckon there will be a lot of replacements and some redundancies upstairs. I dont suppose many will be missed when it happens

Aren’t XPO getting Iceland in Swindon as well?

What you talking about? Have xpo got the transport at Iceland Livingston?

Not just Livingston. The whole contract

I have also heard about XPO taking over the Iceland contract.

Does anyone have any definitive knowledge on this?? PM me if you prefer.

That’s a big loss to Dhl, plus also losing B&Q recently aswell. Dhl have had that for donkeys years.

Wonder where bookers will go, only option I can see in the east of the country is Nisa’s yard.

Good, trucks might start to go faster:lol:
