£200 profit in a week for 30+ trucks,24/7, 90 regular drivers +casual+agency!sending 6 leggers back to be replaced with 4 leggers as cheaper to run, don’t bode well for much of a Xmas bonus, well at least we will get that stupid zb calendar.
Tin of sweets from tesco store though
We do a £100.00 and your choice of bottle/crate.
We got 24 bottles of Holsten pills. But a company I used to work at gave us crate of larger/bitter or 6 bottles of wine the choice was ours plus a tin of quality street and a joint of meat of our choice that was usually big enough to feed 10.

The Red Arrow pilot possibly mis-calculated his situation on a split second ,…whereas you compounded your own situation.
There’s the vast difference , “Muckaway”.
Oh,…by the way ,…better luck next year , lad.

My wagon was left exactly as I found it.
Old place used to do you 500 quid if you took all your holiday over Christmas and a crate of your favourite beer.
Yer I’d be lucky to get a wage
Don`t agree to work Monday before Xmas
then find out its 3 drops around Wales in a puddle hopper (650kg, 350kg, & 1435kgs) all 16/25kg bags to be handballed into customer premises.
The last being at Criccieth near Portmerion.
Had a nice surprise today. Xmas card recorded delivery at home. Two crisp £50’s in. That’s the first Xmas bonus I’ve had for years (only been here since March) and very much appreciated it is too.
I got sod all off my boss
I did sort out a xmass meal an drink up for 160 members of staff
they got me a card an bottle of drink from a lot of the drivers nice of them

I got a tenner from the factory next door, but was for the job rather than the time of year. Didn’t last long in my hands as one of our blokes retired and the hat got passed round.
I lifted a guillotine out of the top of a curtainsider, loaded it on my lorry and then took it in the factory and placed it where they wanted rather than dump it on the ground and let them struggle with their forklift.
It’s been a lean old time for tips lately, the start of the year was quite good but they dried up months ago.
I got a crate of carling this morning off the gaffa, lovely surprise seeing as I’ve only been at this place 3 weeks. Took a sabbatical from driving as I believed I hated it, turns out I didn’t know what I had till it had gone and am now back tramping again and enjoy life on the road much more then the previous stint. Long May it continue…
Merry Christmas
I recon coach driving must get the biggest tips Never done it but a mate of mine does and seems to do pretty well, mind you ! he is away for months sometimes so I recon a grand in his hand at the end of the week is fair

Didn’t you get your 50 free 1st class stamps?
Sometimes a “thank you and merry Christmas” is enough. On Thursday I was taking rubble away for CMEC Demolition; Never heard of or worked for them before yet when getting the last load on I was spoken to like I’d known them for years.
