Rang in last night as no job, , start time for today, told job is a surprise and start normal time 4 am ( sounds ok) , log on to be met with a finish time of 19.30 , rang up and says that’s 15 1/2 hrs , can’t do it , you’re worrying yourself about nothing , jobs are being rolled, just get there Asap and you’ll get something else instead of having to wait for that one , flys there , different job( result )
, gives me it , then just as
I’m leaving says come back her for your second run , what’s that
, your original run
, buuuuut I can’t get back?, don’t worry you’ll be ok .
How Zb depressing , Xmas eve and they can’t even be bothered to make the effort to get you home , give you a job that gives you a chance.
Hope it works out for , and have a drink on me , now to trying to explain this to the Mrs , this is going to be painful
Unlucky dozy, bad news is I’m parked 60 miles from our depot, no tracker but not getting back to early or I’ll end up with another run, should be finished by midday…ill have a drink for you
That sounds like Tesco store deliveries to me, so not too much to worry about. You’ll be sat sitting twiddling your thumbs for most of the day as the queue of lorries waiting to deliver gets longer and longer. There’ll be a mad rush just as you are starting to get worried and you’ll go back without RSU or cages.
i wouldn’t give a ■■■■ I would be saying not a chance going back to the depot and parking up.
dealing with whatever in the days I am back, maybe this is why I don’t drive anymore
Drive back to the yard with no digi card in, risk it, get home for Christmas Dozy, life is too short to worry about somebody elses cargo, if get stopped, say you accidently ejected the card and craic on.
If not back Mrs Dozy will give Xmas dinner to the dog
at least you will be getting home think of the armed forces who wont be home yet again at Christmas, or the nurses drs ambulance crews etc just as there shift is going to finish a major incident happens and they stay behind . and everyone else who has to work does that put it in perspective for you dozy cheer up. is it too early for a beer will we get the same post new years eve .same answer
to be fair hairy when I was in the forces xmas and NYE never bothered me as it was part of the job.
driving on xmas day not a hope in hell would I be thinking oh I had better do what my planner wants even if it means a night out. it would be card out and get home at the very worst.

Think your gonna have to put your foot down with these planners doze. New job next year perhaps but sounds like they are taking the ■■■■ with you coz they can.
To contrast my planners know I only have a 13 for today, I dont but its a given I always have a 13 on the last day of the week, a special ask is needed if a job entails working longer or I want to use my 2 bonus hours to get home.
Now that doesnt mean I dont get shafted like the rest of us or drop me ■■■■■■■ to bend over backwards for the company, it just means if im annoyed they bloody well know about it and they also know I will go radio silent and just bugger off home.
Course the fear of job loss is always against us but dont take this crap lying down.
That said im on a 4 hour load at the moment and me planner has asked if I want to drop the trailer to go home but nope ill stick it out with the lads to get the job done coz thats the type of gal I am.
It was looking alright I was ahead of schedule, then I just broke down.
And I want to apologise to anyone I was blocking at the Asda Lutterworth for a bit.

Our lot got all the jobs that may have struggled to get back tonight loaded last night, I just parked up last night, and should have had an easy day, until the break down that is.
I’d tell em to get f****d and shove it up their arse.
Dunno, been off all week, are some of you still hard at it…
S’ok, done my share over the years, used to have to go to work Christmas night for the Boxing Day newspapers, that was really weird but never seen such clear roads…no limiters and very few cameras.
Hope you have a good day those of you still shifting the goods.

The list could go on and on but they’re all career choices. I’d never do a job which required Christmas Day working, we don’t need any trucks running on Christmas Day except fore engines and milk tankers. Anything else can wait. Why work somewhere that works over Christmas and then cry about it?
I have been sacked , made redundant , been with firms that went bust and every time I have felt like its the end of the world and I have learned two things.
1 Something always turns up.
2 no matter how many favours you do for them you are just a number to a planner.
Don’t risk your marriage or your health doing something you don’t want to do , just say no and stand firm.
The job I have now pays well great hours etc , but I would leave in a heartbeat if something else came along that I fancied , no firm deserves loyalty in this day and age because when the s**t hits the fan they will show non to you.
Christmas Eve ? It won’t be me turning the lights off.
Looking good so far. Started at 8am this morning to 1 drop in Bellshill, 1 in Greenock and currently sitting in hillington Ind Est for a collection. Looking like I’ll be finished for noon.[emoji1]
Was told by the office that I didn’t need to come in today, also got given a 15 can crate of Stellar in the office raffle that I didn’t even know I entered as a bonus. Given the weather currently outside my window, I’m glad I’m not in today.
That wasn’t you pulling the Tesco trailer out of Hull this morning with no lights whatsoever on in the monsoon was it Dozy?
My day was going to be a piece of ■■■■; run in, drop and swap, tip Tesco Doncaster, reload Hull and 2 hours back to yard and finish. For once Tesco wasn’t the problem, the problem lies in Hull where the load still isn’t ready. Why order the ■■■■■■ transport then?
Dozy mate, get on the net and Google ‘Constructive Dismissal’ that will explain things to you what the score is, with all the ■■■■ you are getting from those absolute winkers in your office.
Either let them have their way and jack, OR play along, keep records, and wait until they get too over confident and cocky to the point where they cross that line where you have them by the ■■■■■■■■, and get the Union and/or a solicitor on to the basts.
btw.: As for this morning’s adventure I would have done what Barnsley Steve said if it was me, …end of.

I think it’s a case of the planners have a crap run for someone to do, and asking themselves who is the driver that isn’t going to tell them to do one? And that’s where dozy comes in…
FFS dozy - GROW A PAIR!!!
The closest thing I’ve come to tesco today is the bag of 50 frozen sausage rolls I’ve just chucked in the oven while the TV is on in the background at home
