Dozy man, I cant work out if your posts are genuine or if you are on a wind up.
If this one is genuine then I think your your own worst enemy. Unlike “unplanned night out”, its not reasonable to expect you to just accept a night out on xmas eve. You should have just said no, you wern’t doing it. They’re ripping the ■■■■ because you bend over and take it. I always worked a “If your ok with me, ill be ok with you” way of working. as in,if I need away early sometimes and they allow it then ill do that bit extra for them eg,pick up an extra load if they are desperate. I dont get the guys who dont give the company an inch yet moan the face off everyone when the boss doesnt bend over backwards to accomodate THEM. It needs to be a two way street.
It sounds like your lot are all one way and you need to start learning those five little words. “No, Sorry. can’t do it”.
However, I still think your original post is about 60% made up.

If its any consolation dozy, I got into the yard at 7.30am yesterday. Then got a second load. Had to go 3 miles to load then 3 miles back to tip. All done for 10. Spent an hour doing some maintenance. In the car for 11.
Meant to be in next week but told that not much on so probably off until 4th. They have my number in case they need me to do a load or two. But hey ho. Pub time for me. Have a nice Christmas dozy.
Thought I’d been put on an Aberdeen this-morning but ended up sitting in the canteen for 4hrs before being let loose. I’ve done all of 50 mins this week and that was in a 4x4 picking up another driver. Back in 31st then off until 5th.
Son is doing a ‘half day’ (8hrs) multi-dropping tyres and dodging floods round the Lake District.
I think dozy is real as he once posted a thread on the family forum about things getting bad at home, family etc.
Don’t mind wind up merchants for a laugh but you don’t joke about poor family life.

All I’ve done today is start at 8am and washed trucks down all day left work at 1:15 pm
Ive had a good un. Started at 5, hour an half down to Northampton 25 minute tip of a full load back to yard drop and swap for a tip half an hour away. Cleaned cab inside during tip back yard and washed her. Home for 12 o’clock. Just cracked my 1st Christmas beer
I felt for the lad on the phone to an office girl while I was handing in my paperwork and keys, whinging that he’s at a pick up 2 hours away and he’s behind 2 other trucks. He left before me.

It always amazes me that Dozy is on pre-mod yet the likes of BWD is allowed to post his ranting with impunity.
Get Dozy off pre-mod. He’s what the forum needs on a regular basis. It gets depressing on here at times reading some of the guff that gets posted.
Although to be fair, with some of Dozys stuff I think hes on pre-mod to protect him from himself!
