I know the operator very well so I know it was only those two things.
Admittedly it was over quite a period of time but never the less the WTD issue was obviously a big part of it!
So the example is worthless then. The question is about WTD, your issue with ROG’s response was WTD related, so why use an example that includes far more serious offences that are viewed far more dimly by those in authority? It just clouds the issue.

My point is if they are going to look at you for anything they will also look at WTD. Rog is saying to ignore it because no action will be taken. I’ve given an example where action was taken. So how the hell is the example worthless?
Still this comes from a bloke who answered a question the other week about 7.5 ton weight limits. His answer being that it’s ok to enter one but you must take the shortest route once in it!!!

I don’t think anyone (except you ) is saying they will ignore WTD infringements, you’re just being a big fanny trying to make it something it’s not. Yes if (in your example) there are other things that have WTD infringement on top of other infringements it will be treated in a dim view, but like yourself, it’s just a dim view… So stop trying to knot your knickers and make this something it’s not! The real crutch of the matter (yes knickers again) is the other infringements, and WTD isn’t going to help…

Firstly I am not the best one to give advice on driver hours, wtd and all the rest of such bull crap,as I aint really interested, even though I stick to the former category of rules, rather than the latter.
The only wtd thing I carry out is the 15 min in 6 hr thing, and that is not done conciously, it is just the way it works out as I take my breaks in complying with driver hours regs.
The wtd is a complete sham, embellished with the poa farce to make it look on the surface that we are not working ridiculous hours, even though in reality we still are…aka confidence trick/ cop out.
This is illustrated by the fact that nobody has been actually hammered in offence terms (afaik anyway) for not strictly adhering to it to the letter of the actual ‘wtd law’ apart from in addition to drivers hours infringemenas already stated.
When you think about it the DVSA could make a fortune out of it if they took it as seriously as E8b’s bezzy mate but the fact that they do not, illustrates my point.

But the larger companies such as mine take the WTD seriously and if I continually had these type of infringement’s it would possibly lead to some extra training and possible disciplinary action, I’m sure there are lots of smaller firms out there who perhaps turn a blind eye to it.
