Would you do away with your limiter?

I started travelling in trucks back in 1986 when my old man was given a shiny new FL6 by his company. I was 6 at the time. It was good for 80mph, 85+ down a good hill. I used to think it was great at the time.

Now I drive myself I realise how bloody stupid it was. And even at 80mph you’d still get a Leyland Tipper or an F16 come past you doing 90 and even the old Toleman car transporters. With today’s 600hp+ V8s and what nots they’d be doing 100mph+.

No thanks. And as has already been said. More speed = more work.

interesting theory…our mob would need to have them all reconnected so that they could take them off again…uk gridlock kinda sets its own rate.by the same logic… when the average speed contraflow is set at 40 on the motorway (to protect our precious workforce) why dont they switch it off when theres nobody working ?.accidents happen limiter or not… bored into a catatonic state at 90k,or lit flat out, ones as bad as the other. at least flat out your eyes are open for plod.

No. Back up to 60mph would be handy on long runs, 56mph is plenty but between 50/53mph is dangerous and boring

How is it dangerous?

Yes do tell us your theory.

And me, if you’re doing 56 and you crash into the back of a truck doing 50 who’s at fault■■?

Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. I got my words mixed up as I ment to say tiring and boring not dangerous and boring, I do apologise. I suppose it could be dangerous if a driver was to fall asleep at the wheel, maybe that’s what I mean
