Boxes don’t moan at you. At least on hgv you don’t have 53+ back seat drivers criticising your driving when half of them don’t even hold a car license. 9 years on service bus and hated it after a while. Tried my hand at coaches slightly better until you got the wembley jobs or the like.I’m on agency (hides) I get the [zb] o’clock starts and a lot of [zb] and being [zb] about. I’m at a permanent workplace everyday though delivering for maccies. Lugging cages about sweating my arse off.
But…
I’ve had a serious crash course in reversing (not literally)…
I’ve lost 3+ stone in just over 3 months.
Any stress I’m under on the deliveries goes the minute I get back in the cab.
And I can earn more money doing 40 hours than I did doing 60.Every job I’ve done I’ve not liked for the first week or more. Now I’ve found my feet I wouldn’t change it.
Maybe swap and change when I’ve a bit of experience under my belt but for now I’m happy as a pig in [zb]…
Fair play Sutty !
I could only do the crazy o’ clock starts for 6 months (years ago) but saved up a few quid in rag time, till the being kn@ckered all the time caught up with me.
Had to knock it on the head before I became a danger to other road users.
