Worst Company to deliver to?

Poundland Harlow

Was in there Thursday afternoon. Took several phone calls from higher ups after missing an impossible booking time, and voila, 2 hours later for 12 pallets, which some ejjit initially refused to take

Wouldn’t think Im welcome back there anytime soon

Tesco Purfleet. Arrived 14.23 for a booking for 15.00. Got sent away, all I did was turn right after the barrier, right again to the exit, under the barrier turned right again and joined the back of the queue.

Arrived for the second time at the barrier at 15.42, and it took me a lot of calm talking, and the threat of me dropping my trailer where it was, for them to put me on a bay as I was apparently “late”

Left just after 19.00

Putting a load of machinery on this week then sheeting it in the ■■■■■■■ rain I’m thinking to myself
“I really don’t need this pish, I need a nice clean type of job”
But then I read some of the stories on here about the crap you’ve got to put up with.
So now I’m thinking maybe my job’s no to bad after all.

New record for me today.

6hrs at DHL Liverpool.

Despite my hourly walks back to goods in, where I was greeted with “are you still bloody here?” Nobody gave the proverbial flying one.

But as for general rudeness and misery, my heart sinks anytime I get a run which contains the two words “Iceland Swindon” in it.

Iceland Swindon rudeness and misery. Totally agree. ■■■■■■ are soles.
5 hours Tuesday morning. 4 hours Wednesday morning, not tipped after 4 so had to pull out.
Back in tonight to be greeted with camp Commandant informing me of a 5 hour wait for you drive, why I ask as I was here this morning and you couldn’t do it then, you knew I was returning after 9 off. The reply, THAT’S THE WAY IT IS DRIVE. I may throttle one of them just cause that’s the way it is for me.
13 and a half hours In this dump in 3 days. No wonder we get ■■■■■■ off.

For me, the worst reload was refresco at Bridgewater. 4 hours or so to load me, now I know that judging by other replies that 4 hours isn’t that long but the annoying thing was they would put a couple of pallets on, then disappear for ages then come back, put another couple on and so on. After a while got chatting to another driver, who happened to be English and he said they don’t just load one trailer at a time they load as it comes off the line!!

The golden question is why the hell hauliers put up with this stuff? The apathetic attitude these places have towards leaving drivers sat around for hours, stems from them being allowed to get away with it. You can’t blame them, it’s the easy option.

If hauliers assumed rejection after an unacceptable wait and returned the goods to supplier, things would soon start changing. That said, DHL did that with Amazon at Christmas and they just found some other mug haulier to do it :unamused:

An industry wide demurrage charge of £100 per hour after the first hour may just convince some of these places to employ enough staff to ensure speedy loading/unloading of lorries.

It still wouldn’t work. We do a place in Haydock that is a supplier for Jaguar/Landrover. It is now a drop and swap. Arrived 8.30 for a 9.00 booking. Trailer was already loaded. Swapped over. Finally released to leave at 16.30. On containers so that is with demurrage!!!
