Worlds End Tilbury no HGV parking

And there was me thinking that loads of people were leaving the driving industry because of lack of parking and facilities.
The facilities in this country ( or lack of) are disgusting. I actually thought the government was trying to improve things, but all the while we tolerate it nothing will change.

I’ve just watched an episode of antiques road show from 2018 from Tilbury dock, apparently it was a wonderful place to work. Bit different to my experience of the ■■■■■■■■■ A happy friendly willing workforce, I must have missed that day??   :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: . Regards Kev.

Signs now up at start of road 7.5 ton at any time. I’ve heard they are
nicking lorrys Park on the road going down to pub.
Shame it was a good ■■■■■■■■■■■■ and good food.

So according to Councillor Ben Maney (I’ve said before btw , that 2hat has the sort of weasley face that has not been punched enough :imp: ) reckons ‘‘There are several places in and around Tilbury where drivers can take daily rest’’ or words to that effect.

So 3 questions.

1…Where exactly are they?

2…How many,.and are they sufficient to take the number of trucks required, for them to park up?

3…Does Ben Maney actually care in the slightest,.as long as he and his cronies don’t see them.

Thankfully I don’t go down that ■■■■ hole of an area anymore, but it doesn’t stop me getting angry with this type of thing.

If you are going to close an overnight parking facility for whatever reason, then replace it with another. :bulb:

You got Thurrock services and that’s about it.
Maybe he classes south mimms as one even though not exactly local?

Never had a night out at Thurrock
.but odd time.been in there in the early hours or late evening the place is rammed full of trucks.
Couldn’t get more in there if they tried.
Which in a way proves a point if it’s full where do you go?

See my ‘Question no 3’’ :bulb:

About the only positive I can think of when I worked for stobarts , Dagenham depot to night out at , fair few places round there though , just not advised loaded

You also have Titan Truck Park.

About a 30 minute walk to Lakeside. Yea, it is a bit of a treck and I do not think they have any facilities there for buying food.

And no he does not give a ■■■■. No one does. Everyone recognizes it is an issue but they expect someone elses town to deal with it because they do not like truck parks.

Question 1 Do the pub want the lorries
Question 2 How long have lorries been using the pub.

tbh I do not think truck drivers should be drinking alcohol after a shift.
Yea, if they are having their weekly rest sure. But not if they are working in the morning.

But that’s just me.

Can I ask why you think that?

Because I do not people should be drinking a pack of beer if they gotta drive in the morning.

So I finish work at 8.30pm, home in 10 minutes. Have meal and couple cans drink, or glass or 2 wine. Then 8 hours sleep, back at work 10am. Is that wrong?

Well, more realistically. you start at 6am. your done at about 6pm as you just pull into the MSA for your daily rest.
you get a pod noodle and a 4/6 pack of heineken. To help you fall asleep maybe because of the fridge that just parked up next to you 30 mins after you set your tacho on rest.

In MSAs I quite often see what I imagine to be just this. Guys on a weekday coming back from the shop with a case of beer.

Maybe they do not drink it all or any of it. But… I just don’t see why you’d do it to begin with.

I agree, a case of beer downed the night before work is out of order, but what is wrong with a can, or a pint with a meal, then sufficient rest after it until morning.
You are tarring with the same brush the sensible and the idiots.

Maybe I should no longer take a couple of paracetamol when I have a headache, knowing that if I take the full bottle I’d end up topping myself. :unamused:

You stick with your plan and leave the grownups, who know when to stop, to make their own decisions.

 Yep, couldn’t have put it better myself.

Rest assured Adam277,.I certainly won’t be having too many of these at £5 a pint. :open_mouth:

Come back Wetherspoons all is forgiven.
