Just been furloughed, boss doesnt mind if I work for someone else, would i be able to do every weekend, or just every other weekend as per the driving rules wtd etc my normal contracted hours are monday to friday days.
I would be looking for driving but may be happy to do anything else such as working for farmers picking crops.
Does anyone have a difinitive answer.

Don’t think your allowed to work full stop if you’ve been Furloughed.

Yes you can work elsewhere provided your employer allows you.

I know this, but how does it affect wtd drivers hours etc?

Yes you can work for someone else if you’ve been furloughed and still receive the furlough money. Only exception is if your contract of employment prohibits it or your employer does if they’re furloughing you.
Your normal contracted hours with the company you’re furloughed from no longer matter if you’re on furlough so you can work full time just as if it was your only job. You’re on a paid leave of absence, that’s what furloughing means.

Although morally its ■■■■■■■ ■■■■, I’m alright Jack and all that
According to the scottishfarmer web page this week you can go berry picking while furloughed from another job as long as your employer allows it.

Good idea for those furloughed , try out the job you’ll be
Doing in the future , though you’ll need to spend out on a pair of
Wellies for the mud laden fields you’ll
Be picking cabbages / caulies out of

Really? I suppose the farmers should just leave the food in the fields then, and if too many drivers go sick they shouldnt bother replacing them to deliver to the supermarkets, and the same goes for the supermarket home delivery drivers, these are the only type of jobs I would consider, jobs that help the situation, I am in fairly good position financially and the firlough money is fine for me, I have enough in the bank to pay my mortgage for 12 months so i could easily sit at home but I feel a sense of duty, plus its omly day one and shes doing my head in already

I’m not on furlough but…
I had to self isolate as a couple of family members had it. I never got it. However from spending that time at home I can sympathise with the Mrs doing your head in
She is on furlough though and she’s finding it tough. I can tell because things are being done such as folding the reusable carrier bags into neat origami triangles “so they don’t take up as much room” and she’s also developed a habit of baking. But she’s really bad at it. Every day at the moment I’m coming home to another partially baked, partially collapsed cake
I asked my lot a similar question as in “if I was to be furloughed” but got told that contractually its not allowed which us a shame really as all I’d do is van driving for tesco or Asda but its a moot point at the moment anyway.
I’m financially fine so if I was furloughed I’d only consider voluntary work , if I took
A paid job I’d be ask to be taken off furlough, if that wasn’t possible I’d not do any
Paid work just voluntary, it stick in my throat that some are seeing this truly awful
Situation as a way to fill there boots ££££££££, a driver got in in the head from me
About moaning there was no extra shifts , £1,000,s dieing and he’s only intrested in
££££££
I’m not a Tory , but credit to them they’ve tried to help folks , it was never intended
In a way so you can earn extra ££££££
This virus has certainely brought the best out in some and the worst in others

If you’re so concerned about the farmer why not do a good deed and offer to pick his fields for free , I’m at work so is my Mrs so we’re putting 25% of our wages into the Nhs just giving fund , my Mrs suggested it to me and I was quite happy to go along with it , she’s nhs & is daughter so they know how tough it is in a lot of areas for nhs at present .and we all have to do our bit at present
Nb if you’ve already offered to do above , help out for free my apologies

So when I eventually get paid will it be back dated. And will I then be paid weekly as normal?

We’re be back eventually as we do stuff to building sites.

If your furloughed then the 1st payments are due to be paid to employers sometime around the end of the month backdated up to 1st March or whichever day you where furloughed. If like myself and some others your employer has sufficient cash flow they could pay you from the 1st week you don’t have a wage
dozy:

There’s enough cabbages on here already, who are working max hours for Stobarts/LP
The idea is for companies to pay out immediately, and reclaim monies from Gov when possible, at end of this month. If a company hasnt got the ready cash, and wait until later, I don
t know how thatll work. Will the Gov want to see that the cash has already been correctly paid to employees before they will reimburse? . Since the Gov site isn
t up yet, some if it is a leap in the dark for an employer running on a shoe string. The Gov are doing a lot in a hurry, and credit due there, but it is not easy for anyone.

What utter crap. If people who are furloughed are prevented from being able to do something else because of sanctimonious pillocks then who are the farmers going to get to provide the 90,000 workers they need to do harvest?
Nothing to do with “I’m alright Jack” at all. In fact talking about that how many toilet rolls, packs of pasta and loaves of bread did you buy? Did you do your normal shopping from when the lockdown was announced or did you buy more so you made sure you were OK?

By law they have to continue to pay you as normal. It is perfectly normal for companies to not get paid for the work you’ve done until 4 weeks after you’ve done it so there should be no reason not to pay you. Normally this week’s pay is coming out of invoices paid for work done last month. If a company cannot pay you then the chances are they weren’t doing very well anyway and were likely to go ■■■■ up in the near future even without this if just one customer was late paying an invoice. One thing this lockdown has done is to highlight those businesses that are either no longer viable or never were in the first place.
