Listen folks, Dieseldog is giving Irish drivers a bad name with all this macho man, oh look at me I’m a big Irish trucker, magnets, full to the pipe ■■■■■■■■. Fact is Irish haulage is very difficult compared to UK for different reasons, like a lot of suppliers are located in the middle of nowhere down some stupid narrow country lane build for a cart and we HAVE to catch a boat EVERY time.( try catching 7 boats a week while tipping in RDC’s) Its not easy.
But most Irish driver run legal, end of, no ifs or buts, after a 13 or 15 its onesie on and into bed. Its not easy and we do it as best we can. We all make mistakes AND sometimes it just doesn’t work out right but that’s the way it goes,
Is DD999 for real or jus a keyboard warrior?
He earns a ■■■■ load but has to run bent to make it pay?
Deliberately gets prohibitions?
Has two cards?
Evades fuel duty?
Does it cos he can, but has to do it cos he can’t do it any other way?
Is this what I’m destined for for the rest of my working life

( pot/ kettle eh )
But I have a proper break you by your own admission don’t.
No,that’s the point I do it so I don’t need too stop in layby/ services for 45 mins,I can drive straight back too the yard and go HOME whilst you’ve stopped on the way back in a layby/ services for a 45 ,what would you rather do ,be at HOME 45 mins earlier or 45 mins later
,I’ll go home 45 mins earlier myself
But it doesn’t always work,but that’s the chance I’ll take .

duh…obviously you’ve never worked over here…its not called evading fuel duty, the rates from n.i are based on you running to the south to fill up from there as the fact of the matter is,its cheaper to buy in the south if you run from n.i and buy fuel in the uk,then it dosent pay, the evasive part is pumping your fuel into someone elses tanks so they don’t need to buy it in uk,i like the feeling knowing the chancellor isn’t getting the tax money, similar to the feeling I get when im sleeping on 80 case of wine coming off the ferry etc…im happy running bent…suits me just fine.not because I have to,just because it suits me and its became so braindead boring working legal at 56mph…when your pulled, then the vosa dude is wanting to justify his job… abs lead out means,he has done it…plug it in,he goes and gets another form to fill in,then byebye,i never have it plugged in anway so makes no odds to me,and the cabbage goes away thinking he has made another great contribution to road safety.works fine for me and ive never had serious vosa greif. I couldn’t stand working legal so work the way you like working and be happy.the larger companies work legal, but the smaller ones mostly don’t,and the subbies definitely don’t…fact of life…card 1 for uk.card 2 for Ireland…never the twain shall meet…sofar so good.

Just out of intrest does anybody put there taco on break whilst unloading or loading cleary knowing they can be stationery at that particular location its just I dont like doing but my boss says I get paid for my breaks so he expects me to do it and says its the only way to get things done… so I thought to myself oh! should I tell vosa that in the event I get pulled in a check point
I do it all the time as I work a lot in London and that’s the only way you can stop somewhere! I unload so would be in the ■■■■ if caught by vosa but what can I do?
