Let’s hope so hey…

Most of Greggs delivery drivers have to deliver to shops at night on their own. Unlock, turn alarm off, deliver, reset alarm and lock up. All on the stores CCTV too
Done that myself for 4 months in between C and C+E. It was a ■■■■ job I done most of Edinburgh and East Coast stores every night, those skates of savouries are bloody heavy putting them all in retarders etc 4pm - 2am with only Saturday guaranteed off and weekdays rota’d for your 48 hour break.
The amount of cheeky drunk ■■■■■■■ after a frozen sausage roll is insane, isn’t a safe job I had a few occasions of chasing junkies out the shop when they entered behind me lol, wasn’t long before I learned to lock the doors haha.
On topic though, Lidl/Aldi are cheeky ■■■■■■■ too, expecting middlemen(container drivers) (me) to haul their purchases out the container they have hired, and put them in some order in their warehouse for those ■■■■■ with headsets to pickup. They couldn’t even show me their liability insurance that shows I’m covered if I break my ankle or hit another driver with those powered pallet trucks, who pays the sick pay? Me?

I don’t agree with loading & unloading trucks, you’re employed to drive so do just that, at most open the curtains/roof/doors…!
So why do most on here think sitting on your arse turning a wheel deserves a huge wage?
Surely as a delivery driver the job is ensure the goods are delivered, not point a truck in the right direction.

Surely only if the goods being delivered were made/manufactured by your company?
Can’t see your point if you’re only transporting them from A to B?
I am not on a huge wage I’m on a lot more than I would be shovelling ■■■■, cutting grass or stacking shelves, I’d expect the longer your service and more years under you’re belt then those driver should be worth more money. I only started driving C+E Jan 2013
Why? Does the job get any harder or require more responsibility once you have experience?
Steering wheel attendant is Steering wheel attendant.
I hear as of the start of April next year you deliver and place on the shelves
del, what a plonker

Job is crap mate. I done it for a few weeks on the agency never again. If your on nights you deliver to the stores on your own and unset the alarms. Not my cup of teajust out of curiosity what happens if you have an accident do you just lie there till the next mornin?
Probably lowest odds of an accident. Most accidents usually occur when there’s more than one person.
What happens if you trip over a blue wall

i know nathing i from barthelona
ah, the power of google eh del your guud ewe, gettin silly now
the problem with doing Aldi and Lidl is it cost you (well me money) while I’m on that bay tipping I’m on other work, if they were tipping me I’d be on break or POA, thus keeping my working time down, which lets me work a 6th day every now and again, too many Iidl or Aldi drops would have me stood down for a day UNPAID.
The ‘work’ I’m not bothered about used to do supermarket work for co-op, anyone who has done that will know you practically put it on the shelve yourself, also it was very rare there was a “bay” to tip it on, most of the time you were pushing cages 200-300ft down a pavement.

Lidl have one at Bridgend, that would be your closest, I assume its a similar pay scheme.

Thats a bit too far to commute on a daily basis, but thanks for the information.
I’ve seen dhl pulling for lidl, no idea what that’s all about…
Some people are stupid (like me, I know), because you’ll bend over & do anything employers will take advantage making you do a job that can/should be done by someone else. The wages are far too low to do too much graft in this game, if you expect me to load/offload then pay me for it, give me the forkies wage & mine together (£18-25/hr), yeah I didn’t think so either…

Keep on dreaming, lorry driving isnt rocket science, and you will never get 25/hr.
