Working Christmas Eve/Day - Boxing Day.?

We didn’t have a choice about working Christmas Day. We were living in Africa and the muslims dont celebrate Christmas, neither do the British holidaymakers with their snotty kids. They still want the shops to be open, the daytrips to be operating and the minibus to pick them up from the hotel.

So the holiday reps, the drivers and the rest of the workforce had to be there to serve the toubab.

on call for truck breakdowns…but it had better be a proper breakdown, and if someone runs out of fuel in a bloody daf xf with 1200 litre tanks i’ll skin him alive.

4 on 4 off shift pattern… Just how it falls unfortunately, but i do get xmas day off so the wife and kids are happy enough. And its for the same money as the rest of the year so no greed involved.

But before you say stuff that i wouldn’t work that shift pattern just remember that i work less than 6 months a year ( if you include holidays ) and talking of holidays if i book 4 days off i actually end up having 12 off and if i booked 8 days i end up with 20 days off !!!.. Dont sound so bad now eh? (oh and i earn around the same as i did when i was 5 on 2 off) :sunglasses:
