We only have one side of the story.
How many of us have been stuck behind someone doing 36-38 on say the A75? Then when you try to get past on the short sections of dual carriageway they speed up. With the DC only being short, You don’t have much choice but to bring it in.
Then you have to think, Did he not get on the brakes? I know i would if a saw a trailer about to smack me in the face.

Didn’t get a nudge fortunately but had to put up with this kind of behaviour on the A17 last Monday. Sticking to 40 (we are monitored) I noticed the artic tearing up behind me on the straight before the army training camp. Seeing him pulling out I got left as far as possible to give him a clear view and let him by while he motioned for me to speed up as he passed. Next layby I spot him jumping back into the cab having obviously just washed the wheel when he starts shaking his fist and making speed up motions again. Must have held him up by all of 2 minutes with Leadenham Hill crawler lane being so close for him to pass me again in a huff.
Yes, there are some Richards around, and they’re not all car drivers. Like the unit-only Hntp*c driver (rare, that - perhaps it was a fitter) who chose to block my exit from Tarleton lights (and the other 20-odd cars behind me) today, him turning right, me straight on. Yeah, he left enough room for a car, but NOT the car trailer I was towing and which he had just passed! Just takes a bit of thought, mate.

One of my fondest driving memories is giving a ■■■■■■ like that a toot of the horn as i past him at the next layby. He was pulled up by the coppers getting a ticket.

It doesnt matter where he orders a new plate, replacements have to be registered.

They’ll have your works name across the bottom of them though, and possibly a postcode too so they can be traced if needs be!
if it’s a single carriageway and you are happy doing the 40 mph legal limit ■■■■ em,are they gonna pull up and pay your speeding fines if it happens,do’nt think so,they know the law and what they’re getting into when they decide to take lgv lessons and get told the speed limits,if they do’nt like it they should save their money and do something else.

Probably one of the “old school” who don’t recognise speed limits and think that if you’re not doing 56mph through a school playground at 3:30pm then you’re a not a real lorry driver.I know a lot of your posts are like fishing SCF, ie.looking for a bite
, but I can’t see how you associate "old school " drivers who have done a bit, with the view you give, it’s more like the “new age” type trucker, who is maybe too numb to realise that you don’t drive a truck in the same way as you do a car, of which there are many!.. anyway glad to oblige on your bite
Or you could look at it that the newer drivers are brought up with Digi tachos, 40 mph speed limits and [zb] VOSA
, so thats how they drive, as opposed to Mr “been there seen it done it, I remember when we ran on two booksetc. etc etc”.
Whoever the driver is they should have their licence taken away if its as the OP has said.Agree with the last bit of your post mate, and yeh there are a lot of bad long-time drivers. I was just puzzled by the fact that SCF jumped to the conclusion that it was a more experienced driver,so being one of the" two book" types you mention

felt I had to defend my corner. Still don’t get why 40limits, digis, and VOSA make you drive a truck like a car though
Sorry mate if you read my post it was in two parts the first being a comment on SCF’s post, the second said that “WHOEVER the driver was” and I meant old school or overkeen newbie.
I’m editing this cos it still didn’t come out right.
I meant old school that is stuck in his old ways, or overkeen newbie. I do know a lot of very respectable old school drivers and a lot of newbie drivers that leave a lot to be desired, the point is that if this happened as said the bloke needs a good talking to.

It’s an outdated law that needs changing. It also needs breaking. And when some people past there tests there wasn’t any speed cameras or limiters.
