Travelling along single carriageway at the legal limit, half a mile to a stretch of dual and an artic catches me up at a fair old pace, he takes a big swing as if to start passing then pulls in as there is an artic coming the other way. We get on the dc and he pulls alongside, horn sounding and giving varied hand gestures, my lip reading isn’t great but seems he was shouting something about four kings and a tanker.
There’s a bridge over this dc, just as we get close to it he yanks the whole shooting match hard left and I finish up with his trailer in my drivers door and almost ended up in the bridge support when he leant on me a bit harder still.
End result is the motor pretty much needs all the nearside of the cab replacing and most of the body too, probably a new body looking at the state of it and a bit or work needed on the drag too.
There’s a couple of witnesses (car drivers who were following at the time) but the lowlife had no rear plate and I was a bit busy to clock the reg from the unit, white tractor and light blue trailer with no signwriting, and nope, he didn’t stop.
Probably one of the “old school” who don’t recognise speed limits and think that if you’re not doing 56mph through a school playground at 3:30pm then you’re a not a real lorry driver.

All DC, are normally covered by CCTV, and it is all recorded, the police should be able to locate the truck from the CCTV footage … failing that look on you tube some kid will prob of filmed it on his camera phone !
Iam sure you already done it, but log the exact road the incident happened,and the time and between which junctions of said road. A lot of info can be gathered from doing the maths from point A to any other point down the road which may have cctv factorys, petrol stations etc.
A truck as we know will travel anywhere between 50-60mph so it is pretty easy to track further down,if you inform the authority’s.
So he did this deliberately to try and get you to crash or anchored on because he thought he was too tall for the bridge and then realised he wasn’t? You did tell the police?
Or was he just trying to be the big 'un and misjudged his merge left? ■■■■ in any case. You weren’t at 40 and the straight on the limiter on the dual where you?

There seems to be a rapidly growing number of complete dicks on our roads at the moment, and a fair few of them are driving trucks too.
Yesterday, driving down the M6, a foreign wagon clipped the back end of a car, sent it spinning across the motorway. So, hazards on, bring truck to a rapid stop, all 3 lanes stopped, so me and a car driver climb out to check on the driver and help him move his car to the hard shoulder so the motorway can resume.
By the time I’d walked to the back of the car that was taking lanes 2 and 3 and pointing towards the central reservation, THREE vehicles went up the hard shoulder to get past
Could’ve easily wiped me and the other guy out due to their impatience. Why? What made them or their journey so important that they had more priority over those that waited patiently.
Whole thing took under 1 minute - since the car was still driveable and after a very brief discussion, he moved it to the hard shoulder himself.
Plod were called and printout shows I was legit re speed and hours etc. Load was strapped in too so the gaping hole in the curtains didn’t add to the problems. We did get part of the reg number, well found part of the plate from his unit wedged in my steps, that sort of tells you how far past he wasn’t at the time of impact. We all make mistakes but it’s not like he didn’t know I was there.
I managed to limp the wagon to a layby about 400 yards further up the dc so at least the road got cleared reasonably quickly for other traffic and apart from the fast heart beat and need for clean underwear I wasn’t hurt BUT as has been said, it could have been a lot different,

lucky this one had a bit of a hard shoulder else he would of done the same, it turned out this guy had a grudge against the firm some one working for the same firm had done a similar thing to him, and took revenge thinking it was him!!
so check your work mates ! might be a start?

That’s a thought, could easily have met one of ours somewhere (the fleet is well over 1000 with all the vans).
I do the same run every day and there are a few drivers who get miffed with all the 40 limit sections and run right in the back doors of the truck in front or go for the overtake on hatched junctions and wrong side of the lines on overtaking lanes, can’t say I know the truck involved this time but see hundreds everyday so easy to miss I suppose. Will have to speak to a few local parts factors too, see if anyone asks for a plate to be made up.
Gouls,i had the same thing happen to me,on a d/c to a s/c,and nearly wipes out two oncoming cars when the d/c runs out,they were both bulk tippers,flat out on the limiter.
It happened twice in a day too.
Bit of an update, a local HGV parts factor I spoke with did get a visit from someone needing a plate that matches the remnants left in my steps plus a mudguard and rear light cluster, seems the motor could be fairly local to where the incident took place, just got to wait and see if plod will look into things a bit deeper with the new info.

it would be censored so you can swear till your ■■■■ fall off , you can say words like ■■■■ and ■■■■ and ■■■■ just as long as you spell them the way god intended the little fat non swearing bloke will catch them and swap them for this ■■■■ , see it works . i quite like it myself its a good way of venting off you should try it , as long as you preview it and make sure the non swearing bloke aint gone for a ■■■■ and missed it you’ll be fine …
