I will hopefully be joining the woman lorry drivers soon 
(passed my Category C and putting in for my C+E in the next few weeks and then its just a case of finding someone to give me a chance) i have always had a passion for trucks and after a few years of being unsure of what to do for a career im hopefully gonna go into trucking. Quite often have a chat to the drivers that come in the yard at work, is good to chat to people that are already in the industry and ask their advice. For now though im an Online Driver for Sainsburys in Cornwall get quite a few lorry drivers giving me a wave and always wave back
Women drivers amaze me, how they find time to drive a lorry and get all the cooking, cleaning and ironing done is beyond me

This is true
A long time ago we had a french lady come to work with us
and everything was going well untill one wet windy cold
and horrible night in Rungis she had a flat tyre .
Two of the lads were told to go and help her change the wheel .
They arrived and got all the kit out and the spare ready to put on
the trailor .They started to undo the wheel nuts when the lady
in question opened the door and got back into the cab and watched
the two lads change the wheel . When finished she did not even
say thank you , just drove off and left her two workmates standing there .
with the old wheel and all her kit strewen about .
Needless to say she had a flat in one of the services a few months later ,
and there she sat for 4 days as nobody would go to help her . The boss
in the end got a tyre company out to change the wheel .
She left the company a few months later .

Yay! I love happy endings.
In all honesty and jokes aside, I have nothing against women truckers, I don’t believe in special treatment, but I can’t imagine many women want it. As long as they pull their weight they are alright in my books, that goes to men as well. It is in fact nice to see a good mix of races, sexes and nationalitys these days.
Why can’t there be more woman drivers like the one I met today. Sitting at purdy lodge this morning waiting to finish my 9 hours off after parking up at 1am. Time I got up at 7.30 all the other drivers were of on the road by this time so I had quite a few hours to kill before I set of again for simpsons malt in Berwick. A John Mitchell motor pulls along side and the girl gets out and goes for her breakfast. Once she get back, manage to get a chat with her before her break was up, she was a very pritty young lady to. Told me her sister drives to so maybe they grew up in the cab traveling with there father something that you don’t see a lot nowadays to much health and safety at work. Just wish I asked her for her number lol. She wasnt sure like most of us how sercue her job is in the current climate. Maybe one day ower paths will cross again.

i can tell you there is alot of ladies on the road these days i see loads most of the time there not very pretty sight but ehhhh each to there own opinion
