Wireless Tacho Data Transmitter

Vosa are close enough to you to tap your number plate into this new system. They are then fronted with all the data from your Digital Tacho for the last 24 hours.

Your thoughts please?

Ta!

Run Legal and you have nothing to worry about!!

Would it stop people breaking the law?

They may be able to download the date wirelessly but they would still have to plug something in to the tacho head unit.

Buy a more powerful magnet!

Sounds like BS. Although I do know you can download from the VU remotely, but don’t know how feasible a mobile version for VOSA would be. As stated run legal no problems. Can’t see VOSA wanting to pass up on the chance to pull you in though, a clean tacho doesn’t mean you’re not overloaded/vehicle defects.

They would do that once the driver had been pulled for suspected infringements.

that has been standard for years :unamused: :unamused: , all digi tacho have wi-fi built in. those cars you see sitting on bridges…they collect the data as you pass witin 50mtrs of the motorway bridge, the guy in the car, the lap top goes through 365 days of data stored on the tacho head by the time you’ve passed under the bridge.

one person then aims a camera and your truck gets scanned, the data from the scan gets show on schematics for your truck on the guys lap top,

the numbers are the section scan area, anything wrong it comes up red.

it can even tell when the wheel nuts were last tightned :exclamation: :exclamation: this is before you have even passed under the bridge. this data is then sent further down the road telling the wheel tappers waiting to pull you over what offences (if any) have been commited, any defects with your truck such as a blown brake light/no paper in the digi etc along with how much they can raise in bonus if they tugged you :exclamation:

I spend too much time on facebook, I just tried to “like” cruise control’s post.

is checks how old the finger prints are/glove marks on the wheel nuts are.

No chance in locking onto a signal from an irish rig, they could use the The Lovell Telescope at jodrell bank and still not get a lock

I’m not suggesting it exists. It’s a what if scenario.

It’s not complete sience fiction, in the test days of Digi Tach, VDO did a test in Germany (in cooperation with the BAG) where the truck had a traffic light style which would light up green when it was ok, and red when you went over the driving time.
The BAG was for obvious reasons very interested in this, but for legal reasons there was to much problems to go ahead.

They also did a test with a tacho, that when you went over your driving time, the ECU would be influenced and you would lose power.

This could be only done with the data of that moment because a vehicle scan wireless would take up many minutes, bringing the BAG to far from their favorite Raststatte. :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Technical is everything possible but you need such a powerfull computer that it need a generator the size of a showmans truck and than they will end up as PC Angus.   chassing trucks with his Scabbia over the motorways.

The great digi tacho - the suppossed curse of the Irish lorry driver - "No longer will you be able to run bent , you will have to go to bed every night for 9/ 11 hours , it will stop your truck when you go over your hours " .
WHAT A CROCK OF [zb]

And here is another story to add to the rest of it - "Vosa can read your digi card from the bridge or by driving up alongside you .

Saves the rest of us laughing our ■■■■■■■■ off at you

It may be a joke at the moment, but don’t bet it won’t happen. wireless downloading of vehicle telematry has been with us for some years already, just look at F1 teams. It is easily possible for the next generation of digitachos, to have wi fi transitters fitted transmitting on a certain frequency, with VOSA sitting on a bridge. I have worked with similar systems, and they can download and analyise the data before you reach the next off ramp, where sits the battenburg van ready to pull you over. Of course by then we will all have done our CPC and will be so professional, nobody will have an infringements, this in turn will lead to all VOSA operatives being made redundant, and having to take the C+E to make up for the shortage of drivers that we apparently have. :unamused:

some people need to lighten up instead of shooting a thread down in flames with their tnuk aa gun. Some people seem to of had a sense of humour by pass!
